TheDee, you gotta be kidding. It's about 55 years ago that the war ended. You think there is still Nazi thinking in Germany? Well you might have some minorities that join the nazi party (which still exists today, but only because they lie as hell about their goals. The state tries to forbid them for ages since their real goals are not constitutional).
Germany has learned from those mistakes. You say the Germans killed so many people. Youre goddam right. But the red army definitely took bloody revenge on their way to Berlin. These things cannot be undone. But the German of 50 years ago and the Germans of now think completely different. We now have the ideal democratic constitution and there is simply no chance to ever let something like WW II happen again. At least not with Germany being the indicator or a major participant.
It's tough to see how many people still think Germany is a country of nazis. Especially since youre from the former Soviet Union you should know that there were many things going wrong for which you can't blame the Germans. And hey, even nowadays I'd take the German goverment over the Russian everyday. (dunno about Lithuania all too well)
On topic: As I am from Western Germany and born in '88 it was clearly not something I can remember. But I think although it was really tough to rebuild the East from their failing economy, the fall of the wall was definitely the best thing to happen. Germany is one country. The separation was the worst thing that could happen. Both halves belong together to represent a solid and ethnical correct Germany.
