Retiring Jerseys

In Dynasty mode U can see a bunch of spots for retired jerseys in My NBA Live section So how do U actually "retire" the player's jersey?

I think you have to wait until your player actually retires.

I'm wondering about this too. The game doesn't seem to give a crap if you give someone a retired jersey number when not in dynasty.

In dynasty mode the section is blank...which leads one to believe that you can retire jerseys for players on your team. But I have yet to see it happen and I'm starting to wonder if the retired jersey feature is anything but a few meaningless jersey graphics to look at in the nondynasty hall of fame section.

Anyone found ANY application of this feature aside from looking at Jordan and co's jersey's between games when not in dynasty?

I had TMAC and Y. Ming retired from my simed Magic dynasty..
but didn't see any option on retiring their jersey.......

i played with the lakers and when shaq retired, a massege came that sais his jersey is now in the hall of fame. i think to get a player's jersey there, he must have been at least one time mvp, and must often have been on the nba first team.

um.... then I guess the reason why my onec became 99 rating Y. Ming didn't get his jersey retired is because I was the MVP for the last 18 seasons...

If you just win the MVP of the Finals your player will have his jersey retired at the end of his playing days. YOu can get a cat who's on his last year in the NBA from the free agents, then make him MVP of the finals and then your team will retire his jersey in the sports hall of fame link in My NBA thing. Doesn't matter how long the cat has played for you or made any other NBA teams or anything, he just has to make MVP of the Playoffs and thats it.

There is a limit to the amount of players jerseys that get displayed though. Once you've filled the gaps in the walls, then after that when guys have thier jerseys retired they won't be shown in the room.

does he need to win the playoff's MVP in his last playing year?
If not, does he need to finish his career in your team for his jersey to be retired in your team? (E.g. Shaq got the playoff MVP this year, then I traded him away next year and then he retired afterwards).

Same thing happened with Pip when I simmed up a Bulls season just to see what happened. I think he had a pretty good season too, won MVP & was on All-NBA First Team and also Defensive POY. It then came up with a message that they'd retired Pip's jersey and I went into the Hall Of Fame and there it was!! Pretty cool too.
