Even if your card is beyond the minimum requirements, it's still way too weak to play the game at a high resolution or with medium/max settings. Pdub was not just joking around, your card is a huge bottleneck here, you simply need a better one.
And you can use the "edit" button instead of triple posting...

ok thanx very much for your answer.. would u have some recommandations for a card that allow me to play this game high resolution? (name, performance, price) ?

ok for the edit option, i'm not yet used to forums.

Got 2K10 today and started playing My Player mode with the Suns... kinda hard :P Ran the benchmark program and the game runs at 40 FPS in 1680x1050 resolution... :)

So... I like 2K10 so much I wanna take it behind a middle school and get it pregnant.

You may want to check online that it's fully compatible with your motherboard first (and it that it actually fits in your PC case too). If all of that is fine, then yes it should allow you to crank you the settings much more.

Tout à fait m'sieur

I was serious. Even though your card is supported by the game, your not going to be able to put all the graphics to high with it because it is very slow. If you don't have alot of money to spend on a new card, look for a Nvidia 8600 or an ATI 3800 series. They should be cheap and allow you to put the graphics at or near high.

errr, the game requires a 6600 so NO your graphics card is not better than the minimum requirement..

it technically meets the requirement that is SM3.0 but your card does not have the power to run the game decently. So as pdub said, upgrade the card

id recommend a midrange card..dont get the 9400GT as even with 1gb (1gb on low end cards is just marketing as they dont help) im not confident it will give you good performance..go for at least a 9600GT if you can (512mb version will do)

edit: for $10 more you can get an HD4670 which is waaay better than a 9400GT

finally got my game from steam.
im just curious about the performance of my system
i have:
amd athlon x2 5000+
2 gb of ram
nvidia geforce 9600gt 1gb
windows xp

my settings are all in medium
im having about 40-42 fps and sometimes drops to 39

whatdo you think of my system and setting? do you think im having enough from my system? or i should have more fps? if that so what would be the problem?

ps:my drivers are all updated.

got the game for PC and imo the resolution is higher than the PS3s for some reason.

anyway, does anyone know how to take screenshots for the game?

Re: NBA 2k10 PC Impressions

you can press the print screen button on your keyboard and then minimize the game with alt tab and then paste it and save it in Paint.

or you can use a program like Fraps

Re: NBA 2k10 PC Impressions

Got it as well. And yes, my old computer can run it although I upgraded him slightly some weeks ago.

PIV, 3.2ghz, 2.5 GB ram, Win XP, Power Color ATI Radeon HD 3650 1 GB.
The graphic card does the trick, I had a Radeon 9600 128 MB before and the new one is lightyears ahead, of course. This graphic card is the maximum for my system without having to buy an expensive power supply (my 450W Corsair is ok).

The game runs smoothly with medium players, medium textures, everything on except reflections (and MSAA of course)...and some others set to low. 800x600. Maybe I can even raise the settings and still have some nice FPS.

BUT: I cannot configure my monitor. I don't have a flatscreen...my resolution is 1024x768 and 100hz. I cannot set it to 100 though, only to 90. In 800x600 (desktop resolution) my monitor has 120hz...but in-game I can only select up to 85hz. Any workaround?

Didn't play a game so far, just watched the cpu play. Nice animations, I also like the menus...but the AI is still not that perfect. Magic vs. Lakers -> both teams shot the lights out from downtown...quite static gameplay. I read that some guards have a finishing problem and always pass out of the paint. Some Orlando guard drove by his defender, nobody was around in the paint...he dribbled as far as one step to the basket but instead of an easy, uncontested layup he passed to some guarded guy near the 3PT line.

Next, Dwight Howard was in the paint and Derek Fisher guarded him. He backed him down, nobody came to help Fisher, no double team was called, only these two players all alone in the paint. Pretty strange.

Looks like a great game but with some flaws needing to be fixed.

do you know if newegg is fast to deliver and if they are serious? i dont know this site.

btw sorry pdub i thought u were kiddin with ur shitty edition stuff : )

Ok, I can run the game at 1024x768 and medium settings, too. :)

The monitor issue is horrible though. I cannot set the hz to my desktop hz...and the lower hz hurt my eyes. It's not playable for me. Am I the only one with a non-flatscreen?

By the way, the colors are very cartoony. Almost neon-like...a full red, bright orange, bright blue...the courts look like sweets.

So whats your FPS with this settings? I'm currently having 45-50 pfs with all settings low except players(med), Texture(high). I'm plying at a 1280x1024, pc specs is amd 4000+ x2 2.1ghz, 2gb ram, hd4670 512mb. My problem is with this setting the game is not that fluid I'm still having some lag.

Re: NBA 2k10 PC Impressions

Sun Oct 25, 2009 5:10 am

My system is 4-5 years old. It was able to run all games very smoothly up until I played Nba 2k10. The game runs poorly. I think it's time for a new video card or built a new system from the ground up and have it for the next 4-5 years - starting with a new motherboard, cpu and memory. I'm not sure.

They say the pci express 2.0 is backcompatible with its first generation. Should I buy a pci express 2.0 video card and play my luck to see if there are any bottlenecks with my motherboard or just play safe and get a pci express x16

I was looking at these vid cards or you might suggest:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814143066

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814127412

As you can see these vid cards are priced under $50.00 but i'm sure when they first came out they were pretty pricey. I have my doubts that only replacing my vid card ($50.00) will fix my framerate and lag. I was also thinking about upgrading my RAM to 2.0 GB from 1.0 to go along the vid card replacement.

What do you guys think?

damn

i bought this one to give it a try and it appears that the graphic card id too big to enter my pc unit (the part with plugs is larger than my pc "hole")... how can that be possible ?

Your PC case is the economical or "space-saver" size.
You could awlays make the "hole" bigger if you know a little bit of blacksmithing.

neither of these cards are up to the task esp the 9400GT as it is a low end card the 7900GT was good in its time but in terms of modern day performance, it is somewhat comparable only to the 8600GT

put it this way for nVIDIA cards..

HIGH END = x8xx or x9xx models like 8800/9800
MID END = x6xx like the 9600GT
LOW END = x5xx and below like the 9400GT

then you have the Ultra > GTX >GTS > GT > Vanilla > GS/LE/SE

I got an HD4850 and it covers some SATA ports so I had to move a cable, and now the dvd drive that was connected seems slower. Not only that, but with the tool-less design and the card taking up two pci slots, I had to remove the part that snaps close on the card, and then replace it once the card was inserted. If I ever run into bios problems and have to remove the battery to reset it, it's being blocked by the card, so that will be fun. If I ever turn my PC off, I will have to do this because the motherboard has a great tendency to never POST after being off for a while. Maybe I should just get an entire upgrade. All you have to do is run all your peripherals outside of the case(which is possible, but dangerous), or get a bigger case.

Your ancestors weep in shame. :shake:

Just buy a bigger case, it's pretty cheap. If you want you could buy a case with a PSU included, the price difference isn't much.
