went looking for a score and didnt find one, i do like it when reviewers do that..but

NBA Live is finally, unquestionably back. We hadn’t realized just how much we missed it.

Please, can anyone tell me what in NBA Live 10 resembles NBA Live the year before it "left"? (2003-2006 for different people)

Freestyle replaced by size up button and quick strike
Shot controls completely changed
Different Dynasty mode
No DC, 3pt, yadda yadda
All but ~5 animations have changed

I really hate the NBA Live is back saying. A good basketball game called NBA Live came out this year, but it barely resembles the "glory days" of NBA Live.
Opinions are my own.

Yeah good review....

But i'm still baffled as to why EA would release a game that allows players to step out bounds at will. I thought it was just a demo issue but i was wrong. I also think the higher difficulty levels dummy down the Human defenders to make the game more competitive. It's kinda like Madden or NCAA Football when you play on the higher levels there's a speed cheat in both games.

I wish there was a way for developers to make games tougher on higher levels without forcing the Human players to all of sudden forget how to play the games.

I guess, but hopefully it represents the dawning of a new era for NBA Live, if you'll excuse the cliche. Gameplay wise, it's up there as one of the most realistic in the series, if not the most realistic. I don't think we should get too bogged down in a marketing slogan, but I do think it has some merit in suggesting that NBA Live is back in contention as a worthy game for sim players or that it's at least back on track with some noticeable improvements. In terms of gameplay, I think it stands up very well to its predecessors, even the ones that are held in the highest regard thus far. As a complete package, it has to lose some points because of the various complaints about the game modes.

Remember, Live 98 was THE best sports game out at the time, and they want that to happen to Live again.

I agree with Playmakers on teammate AI on the higher difficulty levels. I pretty much have to play defense with 5 guys. You gotta love it when the cpu beats you off the dribble and your guys stand still with some nice procedural awareness technology as they turn to watch the cpu scorer take it to the rim. Has anyone tested if what Shawn stated in his review is correct regarding teammate help defense?

The “defensive assist” button is extremely helpful without playing the game for you - it’ll simply square your player up between his man and the basket, and then you’ll have to do the rest - and it helps keep your computer-controlled defensive teammates from getting confused when you lose your man and breaking down.

It certainly seems to help out in keeping the user controlled player in the right position, but I haven't really paid much attention to whether it affects the CPU controlled teammates. I'll have to keep an eye out for that.
