Been posting here for over 5 years now and I was going back and looking at all my earlier posts. Wow, simply from the way I used to write what I thought, I've noticed how much I have matured. Now that I'm 20, I see life so much more differently than when I was still in high school. My tastes in music, movies, girls have all changed completely since those days.. Just taking a trip down memory lane has made me see the change in myself and everything around me.. How have your lives changed over the last few years? Are you still the same person you were back then?

I think you're right, I believe a lot of it is perspective. Knowing what's really important, not sweating the little things, handling yourself better in different types of situations. I'd like to think that these days I can take a breath and approach a difficult situation with reason rather than reacting out of emotion and making a rash decision.

I'm making on the of most important decisions in my life and some input would be nice. I have till next week to decide whether to move to pennsylvania with my father or to stay in New Jersey with my mom. I really don't want to leave the place I grew up behind, but me and my mother are just fighting non-stop and I have to pay way to many bills here to be able to dedicate myself to school. At my father's house I would have to pay a lot less and live a more comfortable care-free life. I really don't know what to do, there's so much to leave behind here, yet I can always come visit it's only a 3 hour drive away.. This decision is killing me, cause I know what's best is to pack up and leave to pennsylvania.

You are such a drama queen, Doobie.

Move, it'll save the relationship between you and your mum. Similar thing happened to me only I moved out on my own not to my dad's place.

If you are ready to do your own cooking, washing and cleaning, I'd say move out. Because I doubt your dad will be cleaning up after your ass like moms do.

I'm not worried about that.. I know I will. But put it this way... In my moms I pay over 700$ a month right now... At my dads the max is 350-400 a month..

$700 a month? What the fuck is she doing with that money?
You could have your own apartment for that much. Sounds like your mom is ripping you a new asshole.
I'm looking at 4 Bedroom/3 bath apartments/houses in Raleigh, with my boyfriend, best friend, and another good friend, and there are great places for $800 - $1100 a month. Split 4 ways and including utilities, we don't expect to spend more than $350 a person. The only reason you're supposed to live with your parents is because its rent free.
To the topic at hand....I've changed in the following ways
1. Much more confident in myself
2. Became more spiritual (not religious though)
3. More open minded about different people
4. More patience with people
5. More empathy and desire to reach out to others
6. Lowered my inhibitions...not afraid to try new things, even illegal ones
7. Better social skills by far
8. Democrat --> Libertarian
I think these are pretty typical though, maybe with the exception of 6. When I was in high school I was always the kid who wouldn't dare do anything "bad" and condoned those who did. It was part of growing up in a small conservative town. Kind of a live and let live attitude now.

Clearly you haven't learned anything at college.
Slippery slope my friend. Next you'll be concerned about silly outdated and disproven ideas like the rule of law, not running or caring about other people's lives, and not spending $100 trillion you don't have authority to spend, or even have at all.

At least you don't have him as your avatar anymore.
Anyway, forgot about this after I made the pubes comment. I'm probably become more level-headed and got rid of the teenage angst shit. I've began to approach problems better and have taken a look at the bigger picture in terms of life and all that.

My mom currently lives right across the bridge from New York City... Housing all over this area is REALLLY expensive. To rent a one bedroom apartment a month is about 1,100$ or more. My bud in Kansas has a two bedroom apartment for 450$ a month. And my expenses are like this..
Rent 300
Phone 100
Cable 100
Car insurance 150
Gas 60 ( I fill my tank up twice a month, each time being 30-35$)
710$
My mom tried to sell the house to get into a more economical one, but cause of the 'recession' no one is interested in buying it.
