Dynasty Stats

Many people are concerned, I'm one of those concerned people, about dynasty stats (simulated stats.) Other than hearing "they've been tuned" no information has been posted.

If they've been tuned, why not show people some stats from a simulated season?

Someone please post some stats.

Some posts have indicated that they're not tuned. Some people have posted that scoring leaders have around 20 ppg and rebounds and assists leaders come in around 5 per game.

Why won't anyone sim a season and post some stats?

cause unlike OS, unless Andrew gets one directly from EA, we dont usually get games early here.

Exactly my point Jao. People on OS have posted all kinds of information, but not stats. EA people have posted info there, have claimed the stats are fixed and tuned, but don't post the stats. If they're fixed, why not post them. Someone would have posted the top five scorers to show they're fixed.

I can't post this question on OS because the cheeto eaters there will lock it and say "it's already posted in another thread, find it with search." Search there doesn't work.

I've never had an issue with their search, but I know what you mean. I had a thread deleted just because I asked for some uploaded shots of the new blacktop courts in 2k10. Hell, I dont even think that half the people getting Live 10 this year know that the 3pt contest and the Dunk Contest were completely removed. I only saw one post over there about that and it just got buried.

Last year the NBA Live producers promised to fix dynasty stats. When I created a "promise list" I was told there were already wish lists. The EA folks said things like "when I say it will be fixed, it will be fixed, drop it for now."

It's a year later, and it's looking like it isn't fixed.

Dynasty may have messed up stats, still, has no in-game injuries so all teams except the player controlled team deal with injuries, but they had no time to address it. They had time to add new features like the live season, but not to fix dynasty.

I hope I'm wrong and dynasty stats are fixed. If not, they've once again added fancy rims and rear view mirror dice while the brakes don't work.

did you have put back dunks and a bigger be a pro mode on that promised list?

It's not like they haven't addressed anything important, unless you're simming everything Dynasty Mode still replies on satisfactory gameplay to a certain extent. But being a Dynasty player myself, I'm definitely hoping there's improvement in this area. I think we can assume there aren't any big additions to Dynasty Mode this year but hopefully the sim engine will produce more pleasing results this year. NBA Live 09 on 360/PS3 wasn't bad, some of the ranges were a little out. PS2 was, as we all know, atrocious in that regard as the problems from NBA Live 08 were not resolved.

I'll be simming some Dynasty seasons and posting the stats, with the international post it's running a close race as to whether I'll get my copy before its in stores. I'm hoping it arrives tomorrow, but we'll see. In any case, once again I'm hoping for good news.

Regarding what was promised, I didn't put those things on the promise list because the EA folks never promised to fix them. The list, which was shot down hard both here and on OS, only included things Stephen or other EA folks promised or guaranteed would be fixed for 2010.

They included sim stats, and the injury bug where players would go on the IR and never return to the starting lineup.

Stephen just posted on OS: "We did tune the sim engine, trade logic and rookie generation, but it's not perfect by any means. We have some legacy code in there that makes for some awkward situations. We (obviously) didn't focus much attention on dynasty this season, but plan to put more attention on it this coming year. Apologies for this guys." - Promise broken.

They fixed the IR bug, but now players never get hurt in played games. - Technically promise kept, but because of another change the injury aspect of dynasties and seasons still doesn't work.

All categories seem low. One glaring problem with stats is big men, even starters like Okafor are only averaging like 5-6 points a game. Dwight Howard is averaging just over 10 a game.

In my opinion, according to the way I play, those stats make Dynasty a bust.

My disappointment in this is off the charts. I stopped playing Live 09 for two reasons. Superstars never took over played games, didn't play like superstars, and simmed stats were so bad. Now superstars play a little more like superstars, but simmed stats are still bad even after EA promised to fix it.

To paraphrase, someone from EA wrote "Drop it. It won't be fixed in '09 but I guarantee it will be addressed in '10."

And guess what EA is saying now. "We'll fix it for 2011."

Well if it is any consolation, the game is fun to play. I am finding it more fun than 2k10 so far after having time with both games over the weekend.

Well if you have played both retail version of the games and can come up with this then i can deal with broken sim stats.

Btw i wasn't here for a long time as i didn't play for the last 3 live series; what happened to this site and how Andrew can't get a full copy of the live 10 game nefore the release??

Last year it was fun to play, until looking at the league leaders I'd see my leading scorer and second leading scorer 1 and 2 in league scoring. It was like playing in a league where there were no superstars. Guys like Lebron and Kobe were journeymen, and even if I locked on as Loul Deng, I would be the top star in the league.

Which, BTW, can't happen now because player lock no longer works.

All righty then. Well i remember the times you were the one of the first guys getting hands on the live series games returning with hell of infos. So i also value a lot of your review about the game, hope you get yours and help us out about the game with your honest opinions.

They didn't hold a community event this year, so I didn't get the opportunity to play the game early as I have the past few years. I had to run a few errands this morning so I checked to see whether any of my local stores are ignoring/have messed up the release date while my copy from EA is still in transit but unfortunately they're all being honest and competent.
