Problem with Controller

Hi Guys

hope i can make it clear in englisch language what's the problem. i installed nba08 an my pc and i got the ms sidewinder freestyle pro controller which works with all games really fine. if i play now nba08 the control of my players in the defensive end is no problem and works really fine, but if i got the ball, i can't run or anything else, because the player with the ball everytimes seems makes some moves. even if i don't anything with the controller, my player is keeping going on with this moves which look like they want to make a crossover or so. i also got the same problem if i want to play with the keyboard, so someone knows a way to play?

Hardware can't be damaged or? Otherwise it shouldn't work on the defensive end, right? Hope you guys can help me
