Season Standings

Mon Jan 05, 2004 8:36 pm

Do we have explanation why one team has been eliminated, the other one not?

example:

sa 13-15
------------
utah 13-15

SA made it to the playoffs while UTAH didn't? but they have same record standing?

thanks

There are various tie-breaker rules, one of which is head-to-head record.

I'm just glad it isn't like the NCAA football system, the computer wasn't as smart as thought it was...

do we have precise reason why one has been eliminated, other make it?

is beating other one make a good judgement? or something else?

coz in previous old versions, i observed they rank it by alphabetical names... like when ATL and SA is same...ATL will clinched.

Atlanta and San Antonio are in different conferences, so their head to head matchups won't be taken into account when seeding playoff teams.

I've always thought Live used the tie-breakers, but I could be wrong.

sorry about that...well, it is just an example i made.

then, what could be the tie-breaker?

I believe the next tie-breaker is record against teams in the same division, then record against teams in the same conference.
