Animated GIF's in Sigs?

Well, I've been wondering about this. I got this message from EGarrett a while back:
EGarrett wrote:Unfortunately the animated .gif's are taking too long to load and slowing up the board so we're not allowing them in sigs anymore. Please change your sig...thanks.

I've seen others with animated gifs in their sigs since that.

I'll be daring and violate the rules too...they shouldn't allow any animated .gif's over some specified size...they should enforce (and ideally reduce) the signature image limits. I commend EG for attempting to make things less gaudy.

EG and I have discussed the issue of animated GIFs in signatures, and did amend the following rule:

Member Rules wrote:You are limited to one image in your signature. Also, do not use animated GIFs in your signature, as they increase loading time for other members.

We're still chasing everyone up. I apologise if it has seemed as though we targeted you - the same rules do apply to everyone.
