Top 10 dunkers of 2000-2009

If you want to be surprised or read the article for whatever reason, then don't click on the spoiler.

1. Vince Carter
2. Dwight Howard
3. Jason Richardson
4. Jason Maxiell
5. Lebron James
6. Andre Iguodala
7. Amar'e Stoudemire
8. Josh Smith
9. Shaquille O'Neal
10. James White

Maxiell so high? He's a good dunker, very powerful for his size, but I wouldn't have put him ahead of Lebron, Iguodala, Smith and White. Also, I would replace Shaq with J.R smith or Nate Robinson.

Not only is he the best dunker of the last decade, he's the best of all time.

Don't agree with that.

Lulz. Twice in a row is this?

Anyway, Maxiell is the shit, look him up on YouTube. That said. List is missing some serious Desmond Mason, this is one of the greatest dunks of all time and should have beat Jason "same dunk over and over and over" Richardson that year. It's all about the location of the ball in this one. Here have some more and what's that? You want more? A top 100?

Best dunker of the decade? I don't know, Darvin Ham was still pretty awesome this decade even though he peaked in the 90s.

2005 was probably the best dunk contest in a long time though. JR Smith? Josh Smith? Amare Stoudamire? ... The Birdman's attempts? At least as good if not better than 2000 which was Vince Carter's to lose. (Not saying he didn't deliver. But nobody else had a legit chance.)

Shaq is a top favorite, glad to see him on the list. He still likes to abuse people when they fail on defense. Whenever Shaq dunks it seems like rubbing it in the face. Similar vibe from LeBron.

can we replace Maxiell with Kobe? :? and replace Shaq with JR Smith? also move Lebron down below Andre Igoudala, then the list would be fine

I raised my eyebrow when I saw Maxiell in the list. However, after watching those videos that Benji posted, I can see why he's on the list. Also, I wouldn't put Dwight that high on the list. With the exception of his creative dunks from the previous 3 slamdunk contest, I dont see how he's a special in-game dunker at all. His dunks are very impressive for someone his size, I'll give him that. But still no.2 is way too high especially when the list is for the entire decade.

I'll also be bias and put Tracy McGrady on that list.

Personally, I'd rather have Nate Robinson on this list over a few guys and Lebron dunks don't really look spectacular to me. It all depends on personal standard I guess.

By that standard, only two members of the list deserve to be on it. Dunks per 36 minutes:
oden,greg 2.8
jordan,deandre 2.8
o'neal,shaquille 2.7
howard,dwight 2.6
mcgee,javale 2.6
bynum,andrew 2.4
speights,marreese 2.4
maxiell,jason 2.4
chandler,tyson 2.3
armstrong,hilton 2.0
nene 2.0

I suppose James White technically qualifies, but his best stuff hasn't come in the NBA...at least, not that I can recall. I wouldn't argue too strongly about his inclusion. Rest of the list looks pretty good, some tremendous athletes there with some fun highlights to their name.

Replace Shaq with J.R. Smith? That's retarded. Shaq in his Laker days had some of the wickest in-game dunks back then that make you glad the league made the backboard, rim and entire basket post durable since his Magic days.

Dwight Howard at number two? Dwight's dunks look pedestrian compared to Shaq's Magic days (I'm well aware of the 2000-2009 frame, just making a comparison).

Most of them are Power Dunkers, what happened to style and grace? But I agree though that Carter was the best in the decade. But how did Maxiell got there? He only was famous of his dunks since last year(I suppose)..I'd rather put McGrady's name on Maxielle's spot..
