Live Run Discussion Thread

Live Run is another feature that's currently shrouded in secrecy. Anyone care to speculate as to what it might be?

I'm guessing that it's another feature that's tied in with NBA Live 365, perhaps a single player mode or an extension/evolution of Be a Pro. I could be woefully wrong of course and it could simply refer to some sort of enhancement, but the use of that title seems to hint at a standalone feature, like Be a Pro.

It also has something to do with Adidas I believe as they have some naming rights to it.

My guess is that it involves NBA Players, possibly Adidas players (Howard, Garnett, Billups, Arenas, McGrady, Duncan) if what dragon@4Q says is true, selecting online gamers and assembling teams.

Interesting...that would be a bit restrictive though. I think it's a safe bet that it involves some manner of online element, whatever it may be.

Fifa 09 had feature called Adidas Live Season . It was something like NBA Live 365, but it was updated weekly not daily and you were allowed to update only one league, but there was an option to buy subscription to the other leagues.

So Live Run will be something strictly connected to NBA Live 365 or EA games have to have at least one feature called Adidas, and then the Live Run can be something completely diffrent.

I think that Live Run means "Dynasty + NBA Live 365" mode

just a guess but the "And 1" series use to have a thing called open or live run. Maybe it has something to do with playing nba draft players like in a 5 on 5 to test there skills. or maybe just like a live run of nba players mean 5 on 5 between different players u essemble together. I think this just based off of playground basketball terminology, when you say "lets run" u're generally talking about a pick up game

POLISH_BOY, Live Run is an online mode. I highly doubt that they implemented a Live 365+online dynasty mode in one feature. Plus, dynamic season is pretty obvious: Season Mode with either Dynamic DNA/365 applied or a season where you can try to change the outcome of real nba games as they happen and saved like a season.

I think what wabenne said could be right. 5 on 5 OTP with any combination of nba players.

Good suggestion, I hadn't thought of anything like that. That would be a fun alternative to spice up online play.

Much like Dynamic Season, there's a pop-up box in the NBA Live 10 demo that offers a brief description of Live Run. Seems it will be an extension of online team play as you "form or join a brotherhood" and challenge other users online while selecting the player of our choice.

Maybe. It could just be that it's not mentioned in the pop-ups because technically it isn't new, though that's not to say it's been expanded upon much (if at all). I'm sure we'll have confirmation on that in the near future.

It's a single player mode. NBA Live 09's version of it was pretty stripped down, just a single game rather than a whole season/career. No word as yet on whether it's been expanded upon in NBA Live 10.

We've heard a couple of things about Live Run and presumably we'll have some more info on it by way of a producer blog in the not too distant future (seeing as how Dynamic Season was covered last week), but here's the description from a loading screen in the demo (and the full version too, I'm guessing) with a few tidbits on the mode:

adidas LIVE Run is the evolution of Online Team Play. Join or create a squad and take on others in up to five vs five gameplay up to 21. Before each game, choose your favourite position, player, shoes, and gear.

Each month is a new season. Win as many games as possible each season to win the coveted platinum and diamond studded chain for being the #1 squad. Not the best of the best? There are also gold, silver, and bronze medals to win with full player and squad leaderboards.

When you watch videos in the hangar you can see Garnett dunking on beasley and i think tony parker stands beside them. Maybe this is from Live Run since all of them i think wear adidas jerseys and there is an adidas sign on the wall

it is live run, there is a 2nd video with dwight blocking someone as well.

unless you are playing with friends, or there are 5 basketballs on the court, I really doubt this mode will be much fun with 5 superstars on the court at one time

I don't know, an All-Star pickup game might be appealing to a lot of people. I think it has its place as an alternative to the regular OTP format.

It's not like 5 all stars against 5 regular starters, though. So it balances it somewhat. I think it's a mode for the casual players.

And as they said in one of the blogs, it'll cater to people who don't like getting stuck with one of the weaker players in the starting five.
