installing custom patches

first off i would like to tell all you guys that i haven't had this much fun with this game in years...your patches are great and thanks for all the hard work..

my main ? is installing the work you guys are doing..

the player updates and the jerseys, the courts. i have custom art enabled..

some of you patch makers don't supply readme files with your patches so i don't know where to install the files or what program to use to do so..

i am totally new to this, so i would like to ask if someone could point me to a website that explains how to install the things i mentioned above. thanks..
