JKers wrote:so i can only change dunk`s layup`s with the same code`s...
and what to do with xmcpdnk.orl it dosen`t has any codes when i open it with notepad ??

JaoSming wrote:you dont open the orl or ord files with notepad
you open the dunk.act with notepad
the orl and ord files are the raw animation files from other games, ie, nba live 04, 05, 06, or march madness 07. the dunk.act references to these files so the game knows what animation to play.
Pdub wrote:We've told you just about everything you can and can't do. What exactly do you want to do?
JaoSming wrote:you take them from one game to another
so if you want 04's dunks in 05, you export them from the anims.viv and xsysm.viv files and import them into 05's similar viv files
then you edit 05's dunk.act to recognize the different game's animations by converting dunks over from 04's dunk.act
now since you are trying to edit existing people's work, the first thing you need to do is be sure that both of those aiacts you have are using the same animations from the same game. if not, you are SOL. to check this, just check the viv file's size.
now if they are using the same animations, you dont even need to deal with the orl ord files. all you need to do is copy out the layups section of the dunk.act and past them into the dunk.act you want to keep for the dunks.
JaoSming wrote:you only need to import the dnk aka dunk orl ord files
why dont you stick some names or links for me to see for these aiacts
Like I want to take this aiact's layups (link) and import them into this aiact with it's dunks (link)
even if you got to call the damn things aiact 1 and aiact 2 it would just make this easier. if you dont have download links, just upload them to filefront or something.
JaoSming wrote:just by looking at the files you sent me i can tell you this isnt going to work since you have different animation files with each aiact
there are different layups in MM07 than in Live 04 or whatever the combination is
so sorry, but it looks like this won't happen
Pdub wrote:I believe you uploaded the wrong files. We need the original files, not ones you edited. The reason I am saying that is because it's impossible for you to want layups from the layup aiact when the layups don't even work for me. I put the files in Live 05 and went into practice mode and could not perform layups. I can help you get the layups and dunks from the aiact that you want, but you need to tell me the name of that download because I might already have it. What was it called? Who was the patcher that made it? What is the origin of those layup/dunks? 04? March Madness? Did you download it from the NLSC? Help me help you.
Oh, and there is something incredibly weird about the assignment.act file. Whoever made it had some strange idea. First it has the Live 08 assignment data, then right after that it has the Live 05 assignment data, then right after that it has the Live 08 assignment data again. If you are getting some weird gameplay where the cpu drives to the key and stops, dribbles for a bit and then puts up a hook shot or something, that is why.
I saw one dunk performed, but every layup/dunk I attempted ended up a floater. I did an alleyoop to a player at halfcourt on accident(used to 2K controls)and when the he caught the alleyoop he rose about 4 more feet and then released it, lol.
Pdub wrote:Remember, if I do that, I will have to use the layups from the other aiact, too. Dunks and layups are grouped together. Unless each aiact uses the exact same animation file.
Pdub wrote:Like I said before, you cannot put in individual animations from another aiact.
Pdub wrote:So, to test, I put your aiact/animations into Live 2005. The game crashed upon entering individual practice mode. The same thing happened with the other aiact/aniamtion package, dunk aiact 7 alleyoop or whatever it's called. I looked at both dunk.act files and they are both the same. I need the original, working aiact file that came with the patch. So, see if you still have the original downloaded file, or download it again or link me to it.
