##* RemixTeam - Editing Song Titles Tutorial *##

Postby Little_Big_Man on Thu Dec 11, 2003 5:22 am

Here is a tutorial on how to edit song titles in NBA Live 2004. I'm sure most of you used the Ditty Importer like me and altered the soundtrack of NBA Live 2004 but the Song titles never corresponded to the music until now. This is a short but comprehensive tutorial on how to do this using a hex editor I use called FXEDIT32. I'm in no way an expert on editing hex files but I hope this helps out. Check out my site using either mirror to download and read the tutorial on how to do this

You should put your tutorials on the Patching forums and ask to sticky them. Much easier to find that way :P

i've been waiting for this tutorial--i wish live would make it like madden's next year.(it's much easier)

Good lookin out--I can't wait to get home and change all the song titles to match. thank you.

But, i'm a little confuse because the tutorial shows that you've already changed the title of the song--what song did you change in order to put the Ludacris song in? I'm assuming we can change all the songs, right? Ok--just reading the tutorial it was a little unclear to me what was going on.because the change has been made already.I guess i'll just play around with it when I get home.

I made the mistake of editing my xlocale.eng file before I could save my original so if someone could email it to me @ gmyles2000@yahoo.com I'll be grateful. I removed that Jermaine Dupri song for Ludacris. I don't see how you can add more than 14 songs but again I'm no whiz with hex either. Yeah you can edit all of the song titles as long as they are within the confines of what was in place already meaning if the artist name is 15 characters long you can replace it with anything up to 15 characters. Thats all I've been able to do anyways.

Another thing I noticed that "xmsong1" is really the last song.

The first song that will always play when you start up nba live is "xmsong2 and so on to xmsong3, xmsong4,xmsong5 etc..."

Make sure you remember that when you are importing the song, then changing the name afterwards.

Hope that helps.

Hey LB i was wondering if there was a way to change the song that plays during the movie of the game (you know the movie that comes up if you leave the menu up without moving) I can't stand that Chingy song so if you know how to change any help is greatly appreciated. I will be experimenting for the time being on my own to see if I can figure it out.... Hey thanks for the song title editing tutorial my game now has all songs I like thanks to you man. If you need anything just let me know....

The file that plays with the video to Chingy is in a Mad file. I've been trying to find an editor and I did find one but it is missing ocx files or something. There is no way to change the music without changing the video. If I can find a way I'll inform you guys on how to do it

So do the new songs have to be the exact amount of letters as the song they will replace. I've been messing with it and I can't get a decent one yet--the letters will be moxed up.

One will look like this:

Kanye West
Through the wire

yeah man I hear you I thought that to until I paid more attention to the tutorial and discovered that (1)Every entry should start at the gap in the middle of the file (2)Every entry(i.e. Song Name, Artist, ETC..) should have five 00 entries or those dots between every one (3)Every entry should end with space(00 entry)space for all unused space until the next five (00 entries) before the start of the next entry (4) Make sure that you follow steps (1),(2) and (3) perfectly because if you do you should have no problems because there are fifteen spaces for each entry(i.e. Song Name, Artist, ETC..) if annyone is good at this and has a lot of free time, and has AIM (AOL Instant Messanger) and could do a file-transfer to give me the file, Here is my song list-

Original Song ---> Song Title; Band; Album Name
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right Thurr ---> All The Small Things; Blink 182; Enema Of The State
Live Like Me ---> First Date; Blink 182; Takeoff Your Pants And Jacket
NBA Live 2004 ---> Punk Rock 101; Bowling For Soup; ??????
Can't Stop Me ---> Papercut; Linkin Park; Hybrid Theory
GhettoMusick ---> Faint; Linkin Park; Meteora
I Got It Poppin' ---> Perfect; Simple Plan; No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls
Im The Greatest Player ---> Motivation; Sum 41; All Killer No Filler
Hands Up ---> Still Waiting; Sum 41; Does This Look Infected?

thanks much to annyone that does this
and btw- my AIM name is "Linkin Cent" if you do it and you can give it to me

You found a Mad editor? What is it called? I need one very badly. Or could you send it to me at acgames2000@yahoo.com. Don't worry about the missing ocx files or something.
