Well... Same guys made it, but for me, it was a mind blowing game. 200 people running around the screen, tanks, aliens, and more. What more can you ask from action game. Besides, the demo only has the glimpse of the greatness. ;)

Just played the demo (it's on Steam for PC, it's on PS3/360 too that I'm aware of) and it was pretty good. The fighting is interesting, it's pretty free form in how you target and what you do. Standard things like combos, finishers, etc. There's a minor boss fight where you have find a way to get the guy before he sees you, then to end you get a little room and four or five guys to play around in.

The detective mode is like a permanent scan visor, also kinda cheap in that you can see through walls with it. I tried to use it like the scan visor from Metroid Prime, in that you check the area, then go about in normal vision.

Looking forward to the game, hope there's more clever encounters with freedom to try different tactics. I liked attacking from the shadows, but you could've just attacked head-on in most of the situations. Also exploring and reason to do detective stuff to figure out what to do, where to go, etc. I found a couple "secrets" that were kinda out in the open.

Mark Hamill of course kills it.

Played the demo on PS3, liked it, then saw this:

Yup, PhysX certainly makes it look pretty cool.
I just tried the PC demo and it's pretty damn good, looked just like that video above. I'm usually not a big fan of those type of button-mashing games, but this one makes good use of the Unreal Engine and the atmosphere is fantastic. If the controls can be remapped (which apparently could not be done for this demo), I'll definitely buy that game.

You can remap the keyboard/mouse controls, but it appears to auto detect the 360 pad and set controls to that. I didn't go into the in-game settings to see if you could since it had you set the graphics outside the game.

Like I had said before, I played this a while ago but this demo was still awesome to me.

Good to know that my computer can handle the high physX setting without issue too.
Opinions are my own.

Looks great, hands down graphics, haven't checked out the detective mode though. But haven't finished playing through the demo yet but uhh:

I can live without anti-aliasing, Batman.

EDIT: The combat is cool, it's free-flowing and you can chain attacks on different enemies if you time the counter-attack perfectly.

Don't whine, it's UE3. I think I hate it in everything that's not UT3 or Mirror's Edge. Gears doesn't count as it's the engine showcase. Even in this it still looks like UE3. Renderware was easier to hide.

Detective mode is just a button you press to activate a "scan visor" like thing. LB if you're on 360 pad. (L1 I assume on PS3.)

The combat is really easy (I assume the demo is on easiest) but I like how free it is. I don't really want to fight anyway, and it felt like the epic Batman beats up all fifty guys in twenty seconds you get in the comics. So I didn't mind.

I've been thinking about replaying it just to try that last room again, people on GAF have been doing that and make it sound fun trying different approaches. I'm hoping there's a good amount of "here's the situation, figure it out" things in the final game.

I didn't even want to finish the demo. I saw it was really cool, so I'd rather play as little of it as possible so I can get the full experience when I buy the full game.

I enjoyed it, my only gripe is the camera is too zoomed in. The combat is cool, I like how the right stick actually influences what you do in combat because otherwise it'd just be button mashing really. I like the stealth aspect, it's more fun than Splinter Cell (which I also like) I guess at the cost of a little bit of realism but the game is a bout a giant billionaire in a bat costume running around an asylum so I can let that slide. Looking forward to the full version.

played this demo on my recently acquired xbox. I'd buy it for 20 bucks just because it is a fun batman game. The combat is fine and the ideas for greatness are there. I ran into a couple silly glitches though..i also think Bats dies too fast when shot. Its not like he's never been shot before in comics...

Yeah, and I hope for a better stealth system. Like that on the demo, Zsasz wasn't able to hear the sound of Batman's grapple gun when you go near him.

Like uhh, I hope the stealth level of the game would be that of Hitman or Splinter Cell.

Just played a bunch more of the five guy room that ends the demo. (It has a checkpoint right as you move the duct grate so you can restart it again and again.) Just dicking around taking out the guys in different ways, gliding around the area, waiting to ambush.

I love doing something they all notice like hanging the guy, or dropping through the glass. Then hiding and waiting for them to split up. As the Joker taunts them as they go down. Or throwing batarangs from the shadows and them freaking out. I had strung up four of the guys, and the guy was wandering about, so I started cutting them down with batarangs right in front of him as he came to each and he freaked out. Then I glided out of nowhere, dropped behind him and took him down.

Good times. Hopefully there's more of those type of rooms than the "beat up everyone" type.

Yeah my roommate just downloaded the demo for 360 and played a couple minutes before I had to go off to work. Looks amazing and plays amazing. All the different things you can do like drop down on people, hop from gargoyle to garogoyle, chokehold them and not even have the guy like 5-10 feet away realize what was going on. Sweet.

Wtf, this wasn't even on my radar at all. I just played the demo and it's phenomenal. I'm a sucker for stealth so I hope the full game has a lot of that - Splinter Cell mixed with Prototype I would say.
