Passing sucks in this game !!

How do you guys pass the ball? I'm tired of turning the ball over from just a cross court pass. Can this be achieved? I Know there is a direct pass button, but it still doesnt mean it wont get stolen. Any suggestions?

y do you do cross court passes anyway. they are dangerous passes... rotate the ball... get an open lane before passing. and make hard passes too... this is to press the pass button harder... instead of tapping. tapping the pass button will cause it to lob the ball.

You should be able to make some cross court passes. Thats bull. Its the AI of the game that prevents it. You can make skip-passes over a zone in real basketball, why not the game? This game sucks to me anyway cause it isnt realistic. Too many guys are great 3 pt shooters that normally
aren't. It's too easy to run the break. You go to the basket and rarely are fouls called. It's virtually impossible to get back on defense, after the other team mugged you at the other end. It's not playable right out of the box, you have to practice and practice to get use to all the buttons and analog sticks. This game is flawed and EA won't do anything about it with a patch. They'll just wait till next year if then to fix it.

I don't see all that! last years game was flawed and un-playable out the box, and after dinner and the morning after.......... etc
Serious though this game is pretty good and after tweaked it's off the hook. (gameplay wise)

Use the last man back button to get back on the break?

the problem is , this game is a challenge. Some people don't like challenges--and some people embrace it. we obviously know which is which in this scenerio.

David-I totally agree, after playing live 2004 with sliders--i can't even touch 2003.

Sliders fix this.

Are you kidding me?!

This game is flawed and EA won't do anything about it with a patch. They'll just wait till next year if then to fix it.

...and apparently you're too lazy to do anything about it either. I fixed everything you're talking about in the first day or so of playing the game by nudging the sliders.

This is the worst whining I've ever read...

Give someone a title and boy do they run with it. Mr Moderator I have a right to voice my opinion on what I feel is a crappy game. This doesnt necessitate that I'm whining. This game is has flaws pure and simple. I'm stating the obvious your highness.

Speaking of obvious...you might want to check my signature...which clears up exactly when I'm posting as a moderator.

If you're angry that you have to practice the game to be good at it...then you shouldn't be playing video games. Period.

I'm gonna make like Smokey the Bear and put out this fire. Mr Moderator
sorry if i offended you in anyway, by posting what i think of this game. I'll use Madden 2004 as a example. Its probably is the best sports game EA ever produced (as a matter of fact it was voted best video game of 2004)
the learning curve isn't nearly as hard as Live 2004. I jumped right in and started playin with no problems. If they can do that with Madden, why not Live? So dont tell me I dont need to play video games. Madden has a couple of flaws too, but it doesnt effect gameplay as it does in Live 2004

Madden is simple: You are the QB you find a open man you pass him the ball and run with the ball until you get a TD or a Down. Repeat. On D you stop the guy from getting the ball

Simple isn't it?

Live is complicating: Stop player from scoring. Try to Steal = Foul or person passes it or steal. Try to Block = Block, Foul or Pass. Which makes it more complicating. On Offense Pass = Steal or Pass. Shoot = Make or miss, Get rebound or Not.

Football is simlply more easier to simulate than basketball.
