Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

I have downloaded the NLSC NBA Live 2005 Current Roster Update created by Andrew Begley. But I seemed to encounter the following bug.
Basically, I started out a new Dynasty mode with Andrew's roster and then saved it. But upon reloading my saved Dynasty mode, the game would crash when I tried to click on the game schedule to play the next game. I also get this "CODEBASE ERROR" pop up. It contains this technical information:
Error #: -70
Error #: 91102
Reading File
dfile4...()
TEAMS
Not sure what the error message is about. My guess is that it has something to do with some error when trying to read a file. So just wondering if anyone else have encoutered this similar problem? If so, do you have the fix for it? Thanks!

I've tested the rosters thoroughly and haven't come across any Codebase Errors, so I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with them. Try copying the teams.dbf file from the roster save folder (0809 or 0809Uninjured, it doesn't matter for teams.dbf) to your Dynasty save folder.

Hmm I've been having the same problem as well, Zenmaster.
Oh and Andrew, copying the teams.dbf from the roster save folder simply turns your dynasty into an Atlanta Hawks dynasty but with no games scheduled. Perhaps I am doing something wrong?

Oh wait, the ISHUMAN attribute. Yes, that would actually cause problems.
Have you tried clearing the contents of your workingdb and currentdb folders?

It doesn't seem to do any good, unfortunately.
I think I'm starting to see a trend though. Whenever I save the dynasty and reload it the dynasty can sometimes have this error pop up.
Looks like I might have to pick up Live '06 soon....

Hey guys, I think I found a fix for this bug! Here's what you do. First, load the roster made by Andrew, does not matter whether its the nlsc0809 or uninjured). Then, start a new dynasty mode, go through the training camp, and save this dynasty, which I will call it "Dynasty1" for reference. Then, exit the game.
Secondly, restart the game, create a new Dynasty mode WITHOUT loading Andrew's roster, so you would be using the default roster instead. Save this dynasty, say "Dynasty2". Exit the game.
In your NBAlive save folder in c:/MyDocument/..., look for the "Dynasty2" folder. Copy the team.dbf file in this Dynasty2 folder. Then, find the save folder for Dynasty1 and overwrite its team.dbf with the file you have just copied. Restart the game, and everthing should work....no crashes upon resuming dynasty mode (at least it worked for me) Hope this helps and my thanks to Andrew for the roster and his comment about the team.dbf file!

Will try it out Zenmaster, thanks a lot.

That's weird though, you shouldn't have to do that. If it's a viable workaround then so much the better though, appreciate the insight.

copying all files from certain save floder to My Doc....working db and original db help... no more crashing... BUT salary is still all wrong! It says at gm statement screen that I'm not over the cap, but when I try to sign a free agent to a very small contract it says next day that I'm over the cap... Christ, this game is so frustrating...
EDIT: looks like it does work well doing by method mentioned above; I did some testing...
So;
1) Backup your original db folder from My doc....
2) Copy all dbf files from your modified save folder
3) Open My Documents\NBA LIVE 2005\database\..... and paste the files into 'currentdb' and into 'originaldb' and into 'workingdb'

Also, would be very nice if you would update this years' nba official salary cap for nba team which is 57.7$. Do it by saving your dynatsy mode, open that save folder, open franchise.dat with some hex editor, replace '40 AB' value with '64 E1'. (I do not take credit for this last tutorial)

I'm aware of the method, but it's kind of hard to distribute that file since it's Dynasty specific, as far as I'm aware.

LOL
I was not referring to you, I was writing for the others who don't know this method...

Fair enough, sorry for the confusion.
It's a shame they stopped using the salary.ini method though. You could include that with a roster patch and then any new Franchise/Dynasty game would be started with the updated cap, salary scale etc.

Load the updated roster first before loading the dynasty
