Switching teams?

Tue Dec 23, 2003 4:48 am

How do i switch teams if im already in a dynasty. I want to complete a full year in Dynasty mode, then switch to the Charlotte Bobcats. What files do i need to edit to do this?? teams.dbf? players.dbf? something else?

I think Andrew has said before that the Charlotte Bobcats cannot be in Dynasty Mode unless there is some major major changes to the files.

I don't think there's anyway to do this without causing the game to crash. It's easy enough to switch teams during a Dynasty game (edit a team's ISHUMAN field in teams.dbf), but you cannot add teams to a Dynasty in progress.

You would have to add the Bobcats to the NBA when you start a Dynasty game.

Have you tried what happens when you change the ISHUMAN field on two teams to TRUE??? It probably crashes, but have you tried it?

It would be intresting to see what would happen. I really hope they bring back the multiplayer multi-season-mode back.

I haven't tried setting the ISHUMAN field for two teams to True - it probably would cause the game to crash. However, if you set the value of your desired team to True and your old team to False, you should be able to switch teams without any problems. Always make a backup before editing any DBF files though.

Gotta try this with a friend of mine...

No it can't. I tried once to switch my team (Bulls to Knicks) by editing the ishuman field using dbf editor. I still play with the Bulls, the only change it made was on the roster management / edit player option the team switch from Bulls to Knicks.

Strange - I'm sure it worked in previous Lives. :?
