what do you mean "GOOD"?

One question: I noticed that none of the players on the second 1990s all-decade team (and one or two players from the other all-decade teams) are in the Legends Pool. Is that because there's some kind of cap on how many players the Legends Pool can hold? This isn't a big deal, since its a pretty simple matter to edit the players.dbf file to put them on whatever team you want, but I was just wondering.
Thanks again!
No, nothing like that, more just a matter of time constraints. I haven't gotten around to expanding the Legends Pool with all the extra players as yet.

Do you have any recommendations for which AIACT and/or sliders to use to accompany this update, Andrew? I haven't touched 2005 in a while and my 2k9 is at a point where it's no longer playable.
Fri Jun 12, 2009 10:04 am
Little off-topic - why your 2K9 is at this point no longer playable?
Fri Jun 12, 2009 11:04 am
I'm assuming its an internal problem... Even though I sent my laptop in to Dell to fix my motherboard I'm still getting random freezes; not just in 2k9 but playing any other game. 2k9 is especially messed up, since I am unable to play the game lag free. Most of the time the game runs smoothly for the first 6 minutes of play but then the game becomes horrendously choppy.
Edit: Sounding a bit like those random idiots that spam for patches left and right, but I've also noticed that a lot of the newer players do not have actual cyberfaces on them. If anyone knows of any conveniently packaged SGSM files it would be greatly appreciated since I recently installed the game.

I haven't devised a new set of sliders for NBA Live 2005 for ages, so I guess I'll just plug the ones I made years ago.

As for aiact.viv updates, I based the rosters off the default aiact file so I can't guarantee it will work properly with any custom ones out there (depends on the changes that have been made, of course) so I guess if you want to try some out, just make sure you've got a backup so you can quickly and easily restore the original aiact if the custom one causes crashes or weird glitches.

Well I guess that works out easy enough for me, thanks Andrew.
Now all I need to do is scour the other Live forums for some decent cyberfaces.

How do I bring the original jersey's for the eastern and western all-star?
Wed Jun 17, 2009 7:25 am
You can grab default .viv file for all-star jerseys from the original NBA Live 2005 disc. Unless, you're just using .fsh files with these new all-star jerseys - if so, just delete them from your sgsm folder, to bring back the default ones.
Just curious - why do you want back the old all-star uniforms? You're not interested in having all-star jerseys for 08/09 season?

So it seems that I'm encountering a frequent problem whenever I play dynasty mode. I have started a dynasty with the Raptors and I have simmed through the first season of play. However, as soon as it comes time to make off-season trades I get this error:

Pretty much the only tweaking I have done with my NBA Live is using this roster update and another SGSM update.
If anyone can help me figure out what is wrong, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hmm, haven't encountered any codebase errors during testing. Make a backup of your Dynasty and then try copying a fresh teams.dbf from the NLSC0809 roster save to your Dynasty's save folder.
Thu Jun 18, 2009 12:39 pm
Yeah I've tried using another teams.dbf but the same thing keeps occuring... Strange.
Edit: I've also done some more testing and it seems that it happens randomly during the regular season as well when I try to sim through some games....

i have the same problem, but, it's not big deal

when you launching game.
1. load rosters(injured, or uninuured, it doesn't matter.
2. load you're dynasty.
and problem resolved.
Mon Jun 22, 2009 8:28 am
Thanks Lakers_4ever, I guess it's all up to muscle memory now to remember to load the rosters every time I want to play my dynasty.

It is weird though, I just can't duplicate the error. If I can duplicate the error I'll definitely see what I can do to fix it, but as long as we've got a couple of viable workarounds we've got something to suggest.

It seems most of the players birth date and age are wrong, derrick rose of the Chicago bulls is only 16 years old but his real age is 20 years old
Wed Jun 24, 2009 3:01 pm
Yeah, Andrew in the opening post stated that the ages are going to be wrong because the game treats the players as if they were still in the year 2005 and that he'll find a way to fix/work around that problem in the future. I don't think it's anything major.

The birth date is correct, which is why the age is wrong. It's just a matter of pushing back everyone's year of birth, something I haven't gotten around to yet.

It would make other players stay in the league for about 20 years or more, because I'm playing dynasty mode.

Yeah, I also got an error when trying to edit shoes. Too bad, I installed the game again (everything I had before is gone) and wanted a roster update badly. I don't care even if it's updated to February or March.
Sun Jun 28, 2009 11:03 am
I'm still able to edit shoes without any problems, for me the roster works just fine. Have you tried copying the original shoesacc.dbf file to the roster save folder?
Sun Jun 28, 2009 5:42 pm
I'll try using the original shoes file... and I didn't mean to say those rosters aren't good, sorry if I offended anyone (I also replied on the thread I opened on the other forum).
Sun Jun 28, 2009 7:31 pm
No harm done, I understand where you're coming from now. I'll be releasing new rosters this offseason, so I'll see what I can do about the crashes.
Sun Jul 05, 2009 6:19 am
Andrew, I like the rosters, great job!
But now a question: When I play dinasty mode, the game starts in 2004, so everybody is 5 years younger in the game. Can you do another roster with 5 more years?
I have done it last year, i replaced the birthyear (Example: 1980 to 1975), but now i don't have the DBC Commander and i don't even have MS Excel :S
Mon Jul 06, 2009 2:45 pm
I've got to get around to making a batch file for people who want to move up the ages. Still a lot of stuff to do with the rosters themselves before I can do that but it's definitely on the list of things to do.
