Yeah, we have 40 long days without our possibly 10+ assist guy. But jack has proven to be a decent backup.

Nice win against the Bulls. Seems like you can keep up with other Playoff contenders in the East.

About the recap: I think its a bit weird how you use the tenses. From "was" to "is" and "if they can".
You should try to make it more like a report keeping one style - past tense - to make it more like a NBA recap.

The injuries posted will be injuries during the game AND not during our game. If you want me to clarify when they got the injury I can easily fix it by putting [In-Game] for injuries that occurred while i was playing and [Not In-Game] for those that occurres against another team.

1st Quarter: The first quarter belonged to the Pacers. Scoring 30 points and setting the tone offensively really helped them in this quarter. As a team they shot 69% from the field connecting on 11 of 16 shots. As for Toronto, they shot a respectable 44% from the field making 8 of 18 shots. What really killed the Raptor's in the 1st was the rebounding. Indiana out-rebounded the Raptor's 13-1! That goes to show how well this team can shoot when they don't ever really allow the other to rebound a miss.

Brandon Rush and Roy Hibbert led the Pacer's with 6 point's apiece with Hibbert adding 2 rebounds and 1 steal. Danny Granger was looking to have a nice all-around game as he had 4 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assist's. For Toronto, Anthony Parker led all scorer's with 7 points and after Shawn Marion's 4 points, there really was no other offensive production. Bosh was sidelined early due to 2 fouls he had against him. [30-21: Pacer's Lead]

2nd Quarter: The second quarter was more in favor of the Raptor's despite the fact that they scored 3 more points than the Pacer's. The Raptor's played much better defense and limited the Pacer's to shoot 32% from the field. That's where Toronto took advantage and shot 44% to bring the Pacer's lead to within 6 at halftime.

The Pacers' offensive problems took it's toll as they connected on only 6 of 19 shots. Mike Dunleavy and Rashad McCant's led the team this quarter with 5 point's apiece as Indiana couldn't get a scorer into double digit scoring at halftime. After a very slow 1st quarter, Chris Bosh led his team with 8 second quarter points to be the only player on either team to reach 10 points and Adrea Bargnani led right behind Bosh with 5 second quarter points.[46-40: Pacer's Lead]

3rd Quarter: This had to be a very frustrating quarter for Indiana. Roy Hibbert and Danny Granger both sat out for basically the entire 3rd period due to foul trouble. Granger having 5 fouls and Hibbert with 4. Despite those frustrations, Indiana had a much better shooting quarter shooting 59% to keep the Raptors, who shot 52%, at bay. However, the turnover's in this quarter really were the difference maker's as Toronto connected on 8 fast break point's due to careless possession's.

Chris Bosh led a Toronto surge with 8 point's and Anthony Parker led right behind him with 6 points. For the Pacer's, Dunleavy had a hard time finding his rhythym as he went scoreless, but luckily, Channing Frye provided some offense with 6 points followed by Brandon Rush with 5 point's of his own. [69-66: Pacer's Lead]

4th Quarter: If only the Pacer's had the type of energy they had in the 1st quarter in this one, then they could've prevented the Raptor's from stealing one on their home court. Unfortunately, the Raptor's had no intentions on letting Indiana walk away with a win. The Raptor's shot yet another high percentage quarter with 53% while the Pacer's were barely putting up a fight shooting 24%.

In the end, Jason Kapono and Andrea Bargnani led the come from behind win shooting a combined 6 for 13 from the field. The Pacer's simply choked in the 4th quarter as they failed to keep there lead and ultimately blow their home opener in front of thousands of fans who had and hopefully still have high hope's for their young Pacer squad. O' Brien took a gamble playing Granger with 5 minutes left with 5 fouls. What that got him was 2 points before Granger ultimately fouled out.

Overall, the Pacer's needed a lot more scoring on Granger's part, as he tried to be a passer, and a lot more help from Dunleavy off the bench who only scored 7 point's in 19 minutes. [97-87: Raptor's Win]

CHAPTER TWO: THIS JUST ISN'T GOING TO WORK


As the clock hit 0.0, the entire Canseco Arena left with a chant of boo's directed at their own home team after they gave up a loss at home. Seeing this, GM AD began thinking to hismelf, "What do I need to do to?" Even after 1 loss, it struck AD that this squad might not exactly be play-off materiall. As much as he hated to say it, he knew somebody would have to go.

That night, AD and Jim O' Brien stayed up all night thinking of way's to fix the roster but just couldn't exactly get the right mix of offensive and defensive player's in one unit seeing as they were stock full of players who can, and want to score. "Listen, AD, I trust that you can make the right decision for us," O' Brien stated. "I'm kind of shocked you want to make a trade this early in the season but if you honestly think it'll help then by all means, you have my support." AD stared into space for a minute before responding, "I'm sure this will help. That loss was a terrible one. We led for 3 quarters until our defense gave up and basically gave Toronto the win. And that's when it hit me, defense wins games. If we want to win, we need defense."

Jim O' Brien looked on and agreed.

"Well hey it's getting late. Let's take a break from this and start back up in the morning. We have 3 day's before our next game so we should have plenty of time to come up with a decision," AD suggested. "Alright, AD, I'll see you in the morning. Bye now," O' Brien said. AD responded, "See-ya."

[THE NEXT MORNING]

Arriving to the office, AD had a proposal in mind that he had thought of during his drive home the previous night. As he walked up some flights of stair's he ran into Mrs. Bradley, the secretary, "Hey Charlene, good morning." Charlene responded, "Morning sir. I see somebody's started their day on the right side of the bed this morning." AD laughed and continued on till he reached his office where he had Head Coach O' Brien wating for him to begin the grueling task of letting player's of the team go.

They walked up to each other and shook hands. "Morning AD," Jim O' Brien said. "Morning Jim," AD responded. A secodn hadn't even passed before AD mentioned the trade that he thought of last night. "Listen, Jim, I was thinking during my drive home last night and began asking myself, what kind of defense do I actually need. Well- after thinking of our first two game's I've realized that our opponent's always seemed to have beat us downlow. I mean all we have down there is Channing Frye, Hibbert and well- that's it. Wade Henry is a great defender but is more of an offensive weapon than defensive threat." Jim O' Brien thought about it and realized that maybe AD was right. "So, what do you think? Who goes and who do we get?"

Thinking about his decision, AD came back to earth and responded, "After seeing this seasons stats and career stats, I've decided that I want Murphy out. Troy is a great player but his outside game isn't what I want right now for a big man. He's been struggling a bit to find his shot's- in fact, I think the team will benefit more without having to worry about another shooter to feed-," O' Brien interrupted, "Well see now that's reasonable, Troy came up to me after our loss and asked to get more touches, and I told him that we'll work on it and that he need's to understand that we have so many shooter's that it's hard to get everybody the right amount of touches."

AD shook his head and added, "Yeah exactly, see? And as far as making sure we can get him out of here, I've decided that just in case a team want's another player, I'm willing to give up Rashad McCant's."

Now confused, Jim O' Brien began questioning AD, "Are you sure? I mean McCant's is doing well with us. Do you honestly think that'll be a good idea?" Without hesitation AD, responded, "Yeah." AD continued, "Now as far as who we receive, I'm looking in terms of a Center whose main role is to defend. We really need to boost up our defense down low. Our guard's and small forward's are coming up with these crazy steal's and last night, we didn't even have 1 blocked shot from our big's. So a big man defender is my main priority."

AD continued on, "Listen, I'm going to give you the player's and I want you to work your magic Jim. I've got a player in mind and I honestly want to pull this deal as soon as possible. As far as what you need to know, in my opinion, you're going to need to bring Dunleavy back to the shooting guard position and Channing Frye at the power forward position. I've already talked to the GM of the team and he's agreed to the trade, I just told him I'd run it through you and make sure you agree with the whole trade." As AD said those words, he pulled out a piece of paper which contained the agreement between the Pacer's and some other team. Jim O' Brien took it from AD and read it. He skimmed passed the written agreement and went straight to the parties involved. It said:

Philadelphia 76er's receive Troy Murphy, Rashad McCant's and future 1st round draft pick.

Indiana Pacer's receive Samuel Dalembert and Thaddeus Young.

O' Brien thought about it and gave the paper back to AD. "So... what do you think Jim? He would give us a great shot-blocker downlow to go with Hibbert and Frye." O' Brien looked at AD and responded, "I like it. I think these two guy's could really help us. I think we should go for it while the offer's still hot." Happy to hear that his Head Coach and new-found best friend agreed to the trade, AD put everything in motion. He got on the phone with the corresponding team's GM to confirm that the trade would was still on and much to his enjoyment, AD felt as if he was one step closer to getting this team in the right direction.

Tough loss. Danny Granger must have had an off night. At least you know your association will give you a challenge. Good luck against the Clippers.

Pacer's Land Big Man, Dalembert, In 4-Player Trade
November 7, 2009



Indianapolis, Indiana- Looking for a team that will take Power Forward, Troy Murphy, GM AD finally found a home for the 6'11" star. The Indiana Pacer's and the Philadelphia 76er's have agreed to terms that will send PF, Troy Murphy and SG, Rashad McCant's to Philly and in return, Indiana will receive C, Samuel Dalembert and SG veteran, Eddie Jones.

Indiana Trade Grade: B-

The Pacer's main purpose in this deal was to get an above average shot blocker to mix with Channing Frye and Roy Hibbert. Samuel Dalembert fit's that description perfectly as he is coming off a 2 block's per game season last year. With Dalembert's experience, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the starting line-up while Hibbert gains more knowledge of the game. Eddie Jones' contract was thrown in due to its expiration this year relieving Indiana of $800,000 in the summer.

With this deal, there will be a couple of position switches in which we will most likely see Channing Frye play the Power Forward and Dunleavy going back to playing and possibly starting at Shooting guard

Philadelphia Trade Grade: B+

For Philadelphia, trading away Samuel Dalembert was the right and the wrong thing to do. It was right in that, Dalembert wanted out and wrong in that they lose a defensive presence downlow with Elton Brand. However, in the process they will receive two offensive player's in Troy Murphy and Rashad McCant's who can help the likes of Thaddeus Young, Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand.

I expect to see a roster switch in which Brand will move up to the center position, Murphy will start at PF, then Young, Iggy and Louis Williams with McCant's off the bench.

Overall Trade Grade: B

Yeah right.. they lose Thaddeus Young, that guy is a terrific offensive player.

My guess is that his contributions will be much more effective than Dalembert's.. if he gets any play behind your starting franchise small forward.

Yeah I thought about the trade again and luckily I posted the update before I made any trades. I did however, revise it. So check it out whenever. I think I will be more prone to stick with this trade than anything else.

1st Quarter: The first quarter was a pretty slow period for both team's. Indiana was trying to find an offense that worked as they sported their new line-up with Jack, Dunleavy, Granger, Henry and Dalembert. So far it proved to be a solid line-up. The rookie, Wade Henry had an explosive first quarter in his new role as he had 9 point's leading all scorers. The Pacer's shot 66% from behind the arc making 2 of 3 and 50% from the field making 8 of 16. Danny Granger was having a solid scoring quarter with 7 points while Dunleavy struggled a bit with only 3 points.

For New Jersey, there offensive production came from veteran, Bobby Simmons as he had 8 points to lead the team. In total, the Net's shot 33% from the field as a team including 29% from behidn the arc. Vicne Carter had a slow start as he only produced 2 points in 10 minutes of play and Yi Jianlian didn't privde much spark as he had 4 points in 10 minutes. [23-18: Pacer's Lead]

2nd Quarter: The second quarter saw the Pacer's having a difficult time shooting the ball outside. Connecting on 0 three point attempt's, the Pacer's had to rely on their inside game to get the job done in the 2nd. Being led by Brandon Rush's 10 point performance, the Pacer's survived Vince Carter's comeback as Carter scored 6 points to get his team close at halftime.

At half time, it showed the Pacer's being the better offensive team making 47% of their shot's but shot a season low 2 of 7 from behind the arc. The Net's are struggling to get their shot's but making up for it by playing hard-nosed defense as they shot 37% from the field in the half. Rush, Granger and Henry are all in double digit scoring whereas Vince Carter is one point shy of being the only Net in double digits. [46-42: Pacer's Lead]

3rd Quarter: The New Jersey Net's actually showed some life in this quarter as they took the lead not once but 3 times! The Net's shot 38% from the field with each player finally beginning to contribute. It actually made Jim O'Brien so frustrated that he had to be refrained from being served a tech on a foul in which Wade Henry slapped the arm of Vince Carter during a shot attempt.

The Pacer's went through most of this quarter having a hard time defending the Net's who seemed to be on cruise control. But once they found a way to slow them down, their outside game came and the tide's turned quickly. Danny Granger shot 4 of 6 from the field including 2 three's that came within the closing seconds of the shot clock. Mike Dunleavy continued to struggle as he was pulled from the quarter with only 4 points in the quarter. The game against the Raptor's showed Indiana leading after thee quarters until there defense broke down and gave away a win. It was amazing to see if the acquisition of Dalembert and the new defense of Indiana would be able to hold New Jersey from stealing on there home court.[66-60: Pacer's Lead]

4th Quarter: Not exactly the type of 4th quarter everybody was expecting. Indiana simply dominated and just wanted (And needed) this win more than the Net's did. Shooting 11 of 17 from the floor, the Pacer's outscored New Jersey 27-15. Many were expecting Indiana to fall, but there defense played superb and held New Jersey to under 20 points. Samuel Dalembert proved to be the defensive stopper Indiana was looking for as he had a game high 4 blocked shots to go with 2 steals.

New Jersey just went nut's as they couldn't get a decent shot to go in. They shot 12 of 40 from the field in which Vince Carter stated to be, "There worst quarter ever." Down by 6, the Net's let a possible come from behind win turn into a make the final result a decent loss. The quarter was led by Bobby Simmon's who had a team high 3 point's in the 3rd quarter which for sure sealed there fate.

Meanwhile, Danny Granger, Wade Henry and Brandon Rush all enjoyed a 20 point performance. Dunleavy struggled the entire game as he had 7 points shooting 3 of 15 from the field. Many didn't expect this 20 point outburst from rookie, Wade Henry but Dunleavy will need to get his head together because it's not everyday that a rookie can alway's play this well. [93-75: Pacer's Win]

Yeah tell me about it. Plus, he had a double-double. Something's gone awfully wrong in the NBA 2K9 world! Lol, and Henry just needed the minute I guess lol. Hopefully he can hold that up. 1st Quarter: A quarter that Indiana will never forget. The first quarter was a straight offensive quarter in which Indiana only missed two shot's the entire period! Being led by Granger and his 15 point quarter, the Pacer's really outplayed Boston offesively and defensively. At first, nobody expected Indiana to put on this kind of show but they obviously proved all doubters. They gave this Boston Celtics team a run for their money in the opening period.

Boston played very well, too. Just not defensively as the top ranked defense led by Garnett allowed 34 first quarter points! Speaking of Garnett, he didn't really show up in the opening period as he only had 4 points to go with 2 fouls which earned him a trip to the bench. Paul Pierce led the team with 8 points while Rondo led the team with 5 assit's in the first quarter. [34-23: Pacer's Lead]

2nd Quarter: The Boston Celtics showed their true colors here as they took everything away from the Pacer's offensively. The Pacers' bench couldn't really do much despite leading by 11 after the first quarter. They shot a collective 5 of 24 from the floor making only 1 three pointer in the process. Roy Hibbert led this less than average quarter with 4 points while Mike Dunleavy had a slow start making only 2 of 6 for 5 points.

As a team, the Celtics made 10 of 17 shot's as Kevin Garnett seemed to have single-handedly brought this team back from a near fatal deficit. What really got the Celtics going was their ability to bounce back defensively after giving up such a huge lead and point total after one quarter. Garnett and Pierce were the only player's on Boston to score in double digits. [45-44: Pacer's Lead]

3rd Quarter: The Pacer's found themselves struggling to find their outside shot as oppose to the previous quarters. Boston gladly took advantage by sinking a couple of outside shot's of their own. However, in what was a back n forth quarter which involved 10 lead changes, the Pacer's thought that they were in trouble when Granger collected 2 fouls giving him 5 fouls on the night which meant bench time the whole 3rd quarter. Luckily for them, Roy Hibbert (Who collected a double double in this quarter) and Wade Henry helped carry the load for Granger.

Boston seems to be in a roller coaster game as they dropped their shooting percentage down to 33%. Both Leon Powe and Kendrick Perkins led the team with 4 points apiece as the Pacer's outscored them 22-18. There wasn't much production offensively to help Boston secure a lead but there defense is performing well keeping Granger on the bench for possibly the entire 4th quarter. Allen, Pierce and Garnett were all in double digit scoring this period. [67-62: Pacer's Lead]

4th Quarter: Jim O'Brien took a gamble when he played Granger with 5 fouls. This proved to be a weak spot for Boston- or so they thought. Granger did all the right thing's in the 4th without getting called for a foul. The Celtic's tried using Pierce in the post to get a cheap foul on Granger but he resisted even if Pierce made the bucket. The Pacer's even decided to put Granger on Allen who was more likely to shoot outside. Either way you toss it, Granger and Rush led this quarter with 6 point's apiece to shock the fans and Boston with a huge spurt which led to a win.

Boston simply lost it late in the game. They started the 4th on a great defensive/offensive note but couldn't control Granger and the Pacer's on their own home court. Ultimately, the Celtics went 5 of 15 from the field with pretty much everyone but Pierce and Rondo being non-existent. Ray Allen went 0 for 5 from the field while Kevin Garnett didn't even get a shot attempt! Ultimately, the Pacers' young and fast squad got a win that nobody, even their own fans, would expect. [92-79: Pacer's Win]

Two sweet wins in a row. Im glad you just changed the trade. I read it yesterday before going to bed and my first thought was "he raped them by getting Thad Young". Now I think its a decent trade. I would not have done it I think .. but maybe with youre playing style its better for you to have a solid veteran big man who can swat shots and play C along with Hibbert.

Oh and nice games by Jarret Jack, but why does he average like 3 ppg this season ? ^^ I thought he had a solid shot when hes open.

Thnks a lot man. Yeah, Dalembert is playing great with Hibbert and Frye is doing a great job at PF. I am thinking of starting Hibbert considering he is our franchise center and see how that turns out.

I guess I got too caught up in feeding the other scorer's that I never paid attention to Jack's shot. But now that I realized that he can give me some decent number's I think I'll try and run some play's for him.

And Hibbert is playing very well as you can see from his 10 point, 15 rebound, 5 blocked shot's night. Dalembert seems to be rubbing off on him lol.

"PACER'S SHOCK ORLANDO WITH BLOW-OUT WIN AT HOME"

1st Quarter: Many speculated whether or not the Pacer's would be able to keep up with the Orlando Magic. However, after this quarter played out- not only did the Pacer's prove most doubter's wrong, but they did it with a sense of patience. The Pacer's shot 53% from the floor in a balanced attack in which almost everybody got involved. Channing Frye and Roy Hibbert both had 6 a piece for the Pacer bench whereas Danny Granger and Jarrett Jack led the starter's with 4 point's a piece.

For Orlando, they faced early problems when Dwight Howard had to sit early with 2 foul's added to his name mid-quarter. Overall, the Magic shot 33% against a strong Pacer defense. Rafer Alston was the most productive, coming out of the quarter with a team high 7 points for Orlando. Despite the score, both team's were having a very solid quarter- only Indiana was making more of their possession's than Orlando was. [27-20: Pacer's Lead]

2nd Quarter: Too many thought's go through your head when you think of this quarter. For one, the Pacer's shooter's were- well, shooting well! Second, the Pacer's defense were- well, defending well! The only downside the Pacer's had in this quarter was a minor injury to Wade Henry, you couldn't even call it a downside because the injury occurred only AFTER he made a dunk! Anyways, Henry suffered a twisted ankle but doesn't look like he'll be missing any games.

The Pacer's shot a game high 58% from the field connecting on 11 of 19 shot's. Danny Granger led the charge with 6 point's and Roy Hibbert led the defense with 3 blocked shot's. For Orlando, Rashard Lewis and Courtney Lee both scored 5 point's apiece as the team as a whole shot 42%. Thing's weren't looking to bright for the Magic as Dwight Howard continued to be a non-factor as he collected his 3rd foul on this evening which forced Van Gundy to sit him down for the period. Howard collected 4 points and 1 rebound in the first half. [53-40: Pacer's Lead]

3rd Quarter: The Pacer's were 2 quarter's away from pulling yet another shocker defeating a playoff team. This quarter only made their case stronger. The Pacer's were on an absolute clinic, like nothing would ever miss. They went through this quarter shooting 10 of 16 from the field and to top it off, played excellent defense! Being led by Brandon Rush's 8 points, the Pacer's simply took it upon themselves to rape- excuse my language, the Magic this quarter.

Orlando had yet another mediocre quarter as they shot 6 of 17 including 3 three pointers. However, without Dwight Howard making that defensive presence, the Pacer's are simply running it down their throats with the 42 point's in the paint that they accumulated. Howard ended the 3rd with 4 fouls which obviously led to Indiana's scoring frenzy. Courtnet Lee had a great quarter scoring 9 point's (All from behind the arc), but that wasn't enough as Rafer Alston went scorless this entire period and Rashard Lewis only made 4 point's. [76-56: Pacer's Lead]

4th Quarter: Possibly a statement game for the Pacer's as they blew out the Magic's. The Pacer's gave Orlando every opportunity to come back as the Pacer's were playing to manage the clock. Indiana shot 45% from the field on a combined 5 of 11 shooting which was led by Granger and Frye who was simply dominant in the paint. Granger did a good job keeping the clock managed as he drove in the lane and forced Howard to make his 6th and final foul before leaving the game. Despite, Indiana's high scoring percentage efforts, we can't leave their defense out of the question.

The Pacers' defense had a game high in steals with 18 and in blocks, with 7. They forced 22 turnover's and committed only 14. Being led by Roy Hibbert who had 4 blocked shots, the Pacers' defense had to be the sole reason for their win. For Orlando, even with high scoring efforts by Courtney Lee (20), Rafer Alston (17) and Rashard Lewis (14), they still need more help. Preferably from a 6'11" center named Dwight Howardwho couldn't catch a break this entire game.

The 4th quarter saw Orlando shooting a team high 56% from the field which was great only they didn't do a whole lot of scoring as they only nailed 9 of 16. Alston and Lee combined for a total of 14 point's which account's for more than 80% of the team's total point's in the 4th (18). A huge win for Indiana at home most certainly gave light to the fans that maybe this could be a playoff year. [94-74: Pacer's Win]
