I'd burn it. Because he's an idiot for carrying $1000 with him, and also for losing it. And I wouldn't deserve the money because I'm the asshole not returning his wallet.

There, it's fair for everyone!

edit: One of the options is "Give it back without the money". WTF?

I know, dude. That's the point. Anyone who stole the fucking $1000 would not give a shit about returning the rest of the wallet.

I'd keep it.

My mum found a handbag on the side of the road with $300 in it once, she saw pictures of a baby in the wallet and felt bad for the mother so she took the handbag to the police station. They promptly emptied the bag, finding three unused syringes and a quantity of heroin. Since that day I don't care who the wallet belongs to, if I find it it's mine now.

Exactly, I would assume that it was written, because god is nice like that.

I'd spend the grand on taquitos and hookers.

I'd like to think I'd hand it in, money and all. My wallet fell out of my pocket during a run a couple of weeks back and it was returned to me intact, though admittedly I didn't have anywhere near $1000 in it.

Actually, if I found a wallet like that, I'd be wary a bunch of badly costumed "cops" would spring out of the bushes as part of a prank for some cheesy TV show. I'm just not lucky enough to come across a "free" thousand bucks.

If I liked the wallet better than the one I have, then I would keep it and toss everything except the money.

It really depends on the day, though. Some days I help bums out or donate at the grocery store or I am really polite to customers, people in general, etc. Other days I am more "moody" and don't want to be bothered. On a moody day, I just came up a grand. On a polite day, "Excuse me, I found this wallet, does it belong to you?"

I lost my wallet one night when i was 19. I was very drunk and on someone's front lawn doing something very wrong, but also very right. :cheeky:

And the person whose lawn it was, found my wallet, along with evidence of my "wrong"doings, but they still tracked me down through the phone book. And told me that they'd found my wallet and returned it to me, with everything still in it, despite what I'd been doing the night before.

Which is why I would absolutely return the wallet with all of the money and everything still in it. If that person offered me a reward, I'd take it. But i wouldnt help myself to one.
