Ah, I see. Now that make sense. Well, a lot of Thai people's nickname is simply a shorter version of their first name. What the parents here do is give their child a first name, then if they cant think of a good nickname to go along with it they just take the first name and shorten it, viola. I think it's similar in other country as well, no?

Chuck also works in my case, but in Thai Chakkraphob isn't pronounce as "Chuck-Kra-Pob" but more like "Jak-Kra-Pob". See what I mean?
