Restricted free agent

I just wanted to know how do you find out if a player is a restricted free agent?

There's no restricted free agency in NBA Live 08.

What you might be confusing it's the veteran exception, which will make you able to resign a player even if you're over the cap, and i think the only way to know if the veteran exception will be able or not is when you get to the offseason resigning and there's a "*" next to the player desired money
