Really old news, not happening and discussed at length elsewhere, but thanks all the same.

I know its old news but I would just bring up a point why would EA buy out 2K now when this year they are making a serious run at beating 2K especially with Basketball. We are about to experience Mike Wang's and Marcus Stephenson's 1st release of the direction he wants to take NBA Live into. I think EA would show a bit more confidence in this development team first before contiplating buying 2K.

EA doesn't want to buy 2K. The whole thing was about GTA IV, which is over and done with until the next GTA installment appears.

Agreed it forces each company not to slack off but with rumours of 2 more companies trying to get into the basketball game market along with the Sony game which does exist then we'll have a very competitive field.

Good thing David Stern is smart and didn't entertain the idea of a monopoly in videogame basketball.
