Who is your favourite reserve?

I wanna hear it for those guys who, after the pre-game warm-up, leave the floor and watch the opening tip-off from the comfort of the pine bench. The player who sits next to the head coach, itching to get into the game and make a bit of impact on the proceedings. I want to hear about the player who sparks your team just by running onto the court, making a few energetic plays and defensive stops before sitting their ass back down again and let the stars do their job.

Tell me about your star subs. Who's your 6th man? Who is your favourite reserve?

I'm pretty lucky in My Wizards Dynasty. I've got 3 stand-outs off the bench, who are all very young, athletic and full of energy.

Jarvis Hayes is the first. He started this season, starting alongside Jerry Stackhouse, but then a couple of trades saw him lose his running mate, and saw Hayes get relegated to the bench. He was all right when he was starting, averaging 13 pts in 26 minutes. But since LeBron joined the team and Hayes went to the bench, he's been playing out of his mind. He averages 9 ppg in about 13 minutes, and is pretty reliable to knock down 2 3's a night.

The second is Jonathan Bender. He's always one of my first picks when starting a dynasty because of his fantastic upside, dunking and shotblocking ability. He comes on, has a few alley-oop passes thrown to him from Gilbert Arenas or Steve Blake. Blocks a couple of layups from stupid point guards who try to drive the lane, and comes off the floor again, only after about 3 minutes. But the stats tell the story. 7 ppg, 1.8 bpg, 5 rpg, 9 mpg, .700 FG.

The final is a guy who i got after trading for the 13th pick in the draft last year. I think i gave up Jared Jeffries, who was cut by the Cavaliers. The guy i'm talking about is Samaki Goode. He started the year buried on the bench behind Brendan Haywood, Etan Thomas and Christian Laettner. Those guys have all departed and i now have Goode as my primary backup Centre. He's 6'10", weighs in at 256 lb, and has an afro like Ben Wallace. He's earning his lottery paycheck by getting the ball in the post, backing down the guarding centre, then either drawing the double team, he dishes to the open man who doesnt disappoint. Or he takes it to the rack himself, in a Chamberlainesque jam. He's quite a manic player for his size and throws himself all over the floor and the glass to come up with rebounds, and he's doing a damn good job it. He's chipping in 6 pts and 7.5 rpg in 14 minutes. He's started 4 times due to injuries to my starting Centres and in one of those games he grabbed 18 rebounds.

In my Bucks chise i have Desmond Mason coming off the bench with 18.2ppg 5.8rpg 2.8apg in 28.4mpg.
He dominates off the bench and is the 6th man easily this year

Damon Jones gives me 11.1ppg in 18mpg and posted 28pnts in back-to-back games this season.

Dion Glover, hes doesnt really do a lot 5.0ppg in 12.1mpg but he hits most of his shots which is sumfin i like a lot, hes shooting .473% from downtown for the year which is tied for 8th.
he also seems to play some pretty solid D aswell

in my fantasy drafted raptors franchise

radmanovic - 6"11 can come in , make a couple of blocks, and hit long jumpers

Rice- Old, but can catch and shoot as good as anyone, as shown by his 20pts in 8 minutes


Rafer- Streetball skills

JB is my favorite too. He can play almost any position and in this game is a big man with range and hops. I also like Larry Hughes and Dermarr Johnson.

I also like Rafer Alston because of his ballhandling and passing skills. He can also knock down the 3 and is very fast.

In my Jazz franchise, second year ( I finished the league last the year before, had the 3rd overall pick ). I drafted this kid named Tupac Bailey... He's 6'11 and weighs 225 Lbs, his natural position is C but I have Yao (few trades) so I changed his position to PF.

My starting PF is me, so Bailey usually comes off the bench replacing me...I play the first half, and he plays the second. He's awesome, I used up almost all my money on individual training on him only.

He gets me around 15 ppg, 7-8 Rpg and 3-4 apg, this is the first time I've had a rookie make such an impact, so I'm ecstatic.

He is number one off the bench followed by Eddy Curry and then Stephan Jackson.

Yeah id have to say that Larry Hughes is the best ive ever played with, i tried putting him in the starting lineup but he wasnt as good then.

6th man: Voshon Lenard: 12 ppg 50% 3pt (22-44 so far this year) 12 minutes per

7th man: Kenny Anderson: don't know his stats but averages about a steal or two in about 7 or 8 min

6th Man:Earl Boykins 12ppg 4.6apg 1.3rpg

My best reserve in my Bulls Dynasty was Kendall Gill, but since I traded Rose/Fizer/Mason Jr for KG, he's been in the starting lineup. I guess it would now be Tyson Chandler, who seems to play better off the bench while KG starts at power forward.

My 6th man is Boris Diaw-Riffiod(love for all the rookies) he averages 14 ppg per game (i have played 3 games with my Dallas ).

He scores 20.9 points off the bench?? How many minutes do you let him play? Woah, 6th Man of the year right there!!

My favourite sub-in-player in my Indiana dynasty is, of course, Al Harrington. He's the perfect sub when I want to give either Artest or O'Neal a break so they can recover on the bench. Al Harrington does the scoring job equally well and he's one of the most effective players on my team due to his accurate shooting ability. He averages 17ppg, 6.3 boards, 2.3 assists and .9 blocks.

I love his game!

In my bulls franchise, id say Jay Williams and Eddie Robinson are my best backups. Jay sparks alot of offense through defenseive plays and quickness/passing. Eddie is a scoring machine. I pro hop towards the hoop and often finish with a huge dunk over someone. When Rose was injurred he started and scored 47 points in one game.

Well, I haven't played long enough to know for Live 04, but in Live 03, my bench would always be very similar through a Fantasy Draft. I'd always try to draft Kwame Brown, he was a beast, then I'd go after someone like Joe Johnson or sometimes Drew Gooden, then I'd draft Rafer Alston who was unstoppable. Next I would either pick up someone like Amare (who I change his ratings before the season from 74 to 76) if I drafted a sg/sf 2nd or an sg/sf if I drafted a pf second. Next I would try to get Qyntel Woods because he was amazing because he fit the live 03 style perfectly. Next game Carlos Boozer, then Juan Dixon (who was fast and fit the style like Qyntel.)

So far for Live 04, I've used the Suns for a few dynasty games and Barbosa is speedy so I can usually get him up the court quickly and get a dunk or at least a 3 on 2 if I play good D. I'm liking Joe Johnson too. And Chris Bosh too.

I play with the sonics. Made two realistic trades to get some player I like.

In my Blazers franchise I'd say Wesley Person is my favorite off the bench because hes such a pure shooter and can score from anywhere on the court, you gotta love an efficient bench scorer!

My favorite sub is Glen Rice. Its wasn't long ago that he was one of the top scorers in the league. How he's slipped to below 60 on the ratings. This guy can flat out shoot the rock anywhere on the floor.

I Cant believe no one has mentioned Gorden Giricek or Drew Gooden.

These two guys are stars in the game off the bench.

In my Sonics dynasty

Flip Murray always does great. In fact he's scored 20 pts off the bench 2-times so far this season, and had a 9 steal game!!!! I am currently entertaining the idea of benching Brent Barry and putting Murray at point guard, but i'm not sure, I like Barry a lot, especially for his ability to hit the 3.

In my Golden State Warriors chise (now 11 years into it, but early on like year 7 or 8) I had Stromile Swift coming off the bench, he won 2 6th-man awards. Also had Grant Hill coming off the bench, was a great player for me. Oh yea! And also can't forget my man Shawn Kemp, didn't mention him in my Sonics because he's a starter, but he played pretty well for me in the opening season in Golden State as a backup. Always grabbing those boards, and hitting it on the inside.
