I for one are offended that the South Park boys would racially attack our President during such a time.

best episode in three seasons, imo

I didn't exactly love the latest episode, "the town does something crazy as they satirise society/current events" episodes have been done a lot and Cartman being anti-Semetic has really been done to death at this point so I almost groaned when it raised its head early on. However, it turned into a pretty clever parody of Christianity with the townspeople (as usual) being blissfully unaware of the parallel and they got their point across while keeping tongue-in-cheek. Not a whole lot of laugh out loud moments though, Jimmy swearing was probably the highlight in that regard.

I actually loved that episode, I couldn't stop laughing all the way. Yes, a few elements had already been used many times before but I thought that they all came together as one story in the most brilliant way.

I enjoyed it throughout, it seems to have started to fill the gap that the new simpsons and the shitty Family Guy episodes left behind

Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a good episode despite my initial reaction when a couple of familiar elements presented themselves but to me it wasn't one of those episodes that had a lot of moments that drew many laughs but was still enjoyable and you can certainly appreciate the cleverness.

Eat, Pray, Queef was such an odd episode, but still an entertaining take on the gender battle all the same. And it's always good to get the Canadians involved.

I hope MacFarlane and co were watching. The final song is how a music sequence in an animated sitcom is supposed to be done. It was original, well written, and also really well performed.

Above all, they don't rely on Conway Twitty.

I thought it was great from the callback to the "Not Without My Anus" fakeout for April Fool's Day to the song at the end. Classic South Park stuff in my opinion, being juvenile and scatalogical while satirising society in their own deceptively clever way, all the while telling a coherent story. The Martha Stewart scene was just hilariously wrong. Easily my second favourite of the young season.

Martha Stewart is definitely the queen of insertions on this show.
Another highly entertaining episode. As absurd and juvenile as it gets, but somehow it still works and ends up being hilarious 99% of the time with them.

Another great episode, they are killing the simpsons and family guy this season imo

The Simpsons hasn't been too bad, still very hit and miss but they're easily beating Family Guy which has just had three horrid episodes in a row.

That road warrior queef was gold. One of the funniest parts in that episode. Ah, I'm glad South Park isn't on the same path as Family Guy.

Aren't we all. The fact that Family Guy keeps ripping other shows and celebrities despite its steep decline doesn't help either.

Re: The Official South Park Thread

What a weird ass episode...
I thought they went a bit "Family Guy" with the way they took shots at Kanye West or Carlos Mencia, felt like a cheap vendetta at times. The way that Cartman reverses the roles with Jimmy was pretty funny at the end, especially with witnessing what's really going on in his twisted mind. And the song at the end was just hilarious.
But I don't know, it was just not as enjoyable as the last few episodes for me, just too far fetched, even by South Park standards.

It was pretty hilarious. Do you like fish sticks?

Plus Kayne's an arrogant bitch. He responded to the episode on his blog.

“SOUTH PARK MURDERED ME LAST NIGHT AND IT’S PRETTY FUNNY. IT HURTS MY FEELINGS BUT WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM SOUTH PARK! I ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY EGO THOUGH. HAVING THE CRAZY EGO IS PLAYED OUT AT THIS POINT IN MY LIFE AND CAREER. I USE TO USE IT TO BUILD UP MY ESTEEM WHEN NOBODY BELIEVED IN ME. NOW THAT PEOPLE DO BELIEVE AND SUPPORT MY MUSIC AND PRODUCTS THE BEST RESPONSE IS THANK YOU INSTEAD OF “I TOLD YOU SO!!!” IT’S COOL TO TALK SHIT WHEN YOU’RE RAPPING BUT NOT IN REAL LIFE. WHEN YOU MEET LITTLE WAYNE IN PERSON HE’S THE NICEST GUY FOR EXAMPLE. I JUST WANNA BE A DOPER PERSON WHICH STARTS WITH ME NOT ALWAYS TELLING PEOPLE HOW DOPE I THINK I AM. I NEED TO JUST GET PAST MYSELF. DROP THE BRAVADO AND JUST MAKE DOPE PRODUCT. EVERYTHING IS NOT THAT SERIOUS. AS LONG AS PEOPLE THINK I ACT LIKE A BITCH THIS TYPE OF SHIT WILL HAPPEN TO ME. I GOT A LONG ROAD AHEAD OF ME TO MAKE PEOPLE BELIEVE I’M NOT ACTUALLY A HUGE DOUCHE BUT I’M UP FOR THE CHALLENGE. I’M SURE THE WRITERS AT SOUTH PARK ARE REALLY NICE PEOPLE IN REAL LIFE. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO DRAW MY CREW. THAT WAS PRETTY FUNNY ALSO!! I’M SURE THERE’S GRAMMATICAL ERRORS IN THIS… THAT’S HOW YOU KNOW IT’S ME!”

cant stand kanye not knowing when to shut his mouth. I dont think the potshots were unjustified. "i can use autotune im a genius!!!"...not so much.

Also: its not just 1 or 2 sources bout the Carlos Mencia thing...and there have been times listening to carlos im like "i've heard this before"...and realize its from another comedian or show. Im thinking he must've recently taken a South Park bit in order for them to kill him like that.

The best parts of this episode:
1. The joke isnt that great
2. Craig "yup and if i had wheel i'd be a wagon"...im not really sure why but that cracked me the fuck up
3. The ending song is epic win all over.

Certainly not their best...but they've done worse.

My thoughts are pretty similar to this, though their potshots weren't quite FG-ish since there was more of a point to them rather than simply being random bashing for the sake of bashing someone and South Park's still producing some quality episodes, whereas Family Guy has pretty much lost the right to criticise anyone else. At the end of the day I'd call it a regular episode of South Park though. It's not one of their best, not one of their worst. It was entertaining enough for 20-odd minutes but I don't think it's going down as one of their all-time greats or all-time stinkers.

Any thoughts on the latest episode?

Randy episodes are hit and miss with me as they don't really bring a lot of new stuff to the table each time. The latest one was pretty standard Randy fare with Stan as the lone voice of reason. Some funny moments with Randy talking to the world leaders and the dark scene with the other boy and his father but just decent overall.

I thought it was a great episode, absolutely loved the ending....and the sad part it, I could really see the world do something similar to that

Re: The Official South Park Thread

I was a little underwhelmed by that one. The ending was pretty funny and gave something to think about, but I wasn't really impressed overall. Stan's confession was predictable.

I think they're overusing the "Randy does something stupid, Stan acts as his conscience and gets ignored" formula. It's made for some great episodes but like you said, it can get very predictable.

I really liked that one, really shows how quickly they can create an episode with all the recent events

Re: The Official South Park Thread

I think that's the last one for a while until October. If that is indeed the last episode of South Park for now, that was a great way to end the season. (Y)

The French got scared off with Lightsabers...and stupid Clyde

Agreed, a very strong end to the first half of the thirteenth season though the ending came quite abruptly. Not such a bad thing though, South Park is usually good at the punchy abrupt ending and that was the case here. As always, Family Guy should take notes: this is how you push the envelope with touchy subject matter and satirise contemporary society and current issues.
