I hope this is faster than Ebodit.
EDIT: Nevermind. You actually have to pay for this. I think I'll stick with ebodit.

You have to pay? Meh..
Showfom, thanks for everything, but if it's for money then I cant afford it..
Tue Mar 17, 2009 8:34 pm
with 3DS Max, yes you have to pay since it's commercial software used for games and movies. But from what I understand, what they have is plugin for the 2k9 files to work in Max. It's basically the same as having to use Photoshop to edit textures converted from patching tools.

Showfom, I have tried the tool that you share and it does work importing NBA2K9 geometry to 3ds max. I haven't tried importing back to NBA2K9 and see the mod in games at the moment due to hectic tasks that I have to do at the office. I will try it again later. Thanks!

Yes. We don't need to do hex editing. The creator also include 3D IFF Tool exporter that also works as importer. However, I haven't tried the importer.

I have 3DS max 9, how do I get this working? Thanks
Thu Mar 19, 2009 4:05 pm
Showform . i figured out how to extract the .n2km file from the part 2 of the iff file and edit in 3dmax.
when i open in 3dmax it says i will lose the animations etc. with file and it asks me to either hold/yes or yes or no. i choose hold/yes and edit headshape.
Once i'm done editing and i try to use the iff 3d tool and select the iff file i want to import the .n2km file back into, it displays an error messeage that is in chinese which i cannot read.
Am I firstly doing this correct? i am trying to finish my wade headshape in 3dmax. the iff file i have used has been edited using pdubs .ebo method. Is this file still ok to use or do a have to start over with the default wade iff file again.
your help is greatly appreciated as 3dmax is so much easier than eboedit v.2

I'm not sure if the scripts work on previous versions of 3ds max. It probably works on 3ds max 8 though.

First, you need to add a menu in 3ds Max toolbar to access the script. Secondly, You need to extract the iff file using 3D IFF Tool. Open NBA 2K9 IFF 3D Tool. Choose the IFF file that you would like to edit. Choose "File:2" from the first (top) drop down menu. Choose "Part:0" from the second drop down menu. Click Export modding.
Please refer to the tutorial in:
http://nba-2k.com/nba-2k9-headshape-modding-3d-tool/ for more details.

You can edit the headshape with the skin? Nice!
What game is that Sakuragi from, doesn't look like 2k9.

How do you render it with the skin texture? I know you have the "perspective" section... but I couldn't figure out how to change the existing "gray" texture, with the skin. Thanks

Sat Mar 21, 2009 6:50 pm
Can someone explain this in more detail? I know showform won't answer because he hates me.
Sun Mar 22, 2009 12:24 am
i dont understand either
Sun Mar 22, 2009 10:46 pm
for some reason i cant import back into iff,
After editng the headshape in 3dmax i export .n2km file using the edit n2km funtion again and select the second button. I know this should be correct, because if i open the file back up in 3dmax my edited headshape has been saved. I then open the 3d_iff tool and click on the import moddings button and it asks me to choose the
.n2km file . I then choose my edited (n2km) file and click import moddings button. a dialoge button appear saying i have successfuly loaded file n2kfm, However when i load 2k9, the player i just edited has not changed at all.
Have i missed a step somewhere? any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hey nba2k9, could you do us a favor and tell how you manage to actually edit headshapes in 3ds max 9? What do they mean about opening another toolbar to access the custom script or something like that? Cmon man!
Mon Mar 23, 2009 5:24 am
Everybody needs to choose Part 1, not Part 2 Part 1 is the high quality model, Part 2 is the low quality model. That's why you don't see any changes.
Can somebody who has created a UVmap(Double LC or other) save the UVmapping through the Map editor and upload it? Most, if not all player UVmapping is the same and it can be used for most models. The only ones that are different are the ones with hair.
