A question about left-handed players

Postby Marek on Sat Feb 21, 2009 8:09 am

Guys, where can I find information, which players in the NBA are left-handed? I looked at nba.com player profiles, but unfortunately I haven't found anything in there...

Please help... :shifty:

You could probably find some resources somewhere using Google but player profiles on sites such as NBADraft.net and DraftExpress mention stuff like that (you can go back through the archives to find out info on current NBA players). Videos posted on YouTube, even the recaps on NBA.com's channel, can be useful in that regard.

So is Jermaine O'Neal. But he doesn't know how to use that in offense (horrible shooting %). Defense, probably.

Jermaine O'Neal too? I never knew he is ambidextrous.

He is, but the problem is he probably didn't develop a comfortable shooting mechanic with either hand which is reflected in his horrible shooting percentage. For a bigman, his FG% is just disappointing.
It does help him in defense though.

I almost forgot to mention Larry Bird. What a sin of forgetting him.
He can shoot with both hands. I saw a video of Bill Walton mentioning (I think it was a Bird tribute) that in one game Bird scored mostly with his left for the first three quarters and then finally using his right for the fourth. Walton mentioned that Bird scored about 25 pts. with his left. I don't doubt Bird being ambidextrous but I have reservations about the points he scored with his left hand. It's either the Celtics were facing a weak team or Walton was probably high while on the bench. Anyway, if that 25 pts. were true, take that Gilbert "I can shoot with only one hand from the college 3-point line during practice" Arenas! Bird did it in a game, not during practice.

Wow, if Bird really scored 25 points in a game with his left hand, then that is truly impressive. For some reason I have a strange feeling that Walton was high on the bench though. Arenas boasted over a lot of things and I dont really see the point for him doing so. If he did so to gain attention then I think it's safe to say that he succeed.

You haven't seen that video of Arenas and Stevenson having a shootout to settle a bet?
