It is not a problem, but it shouldn't involve any money in it. Patching was supposed to make the game more enjoyable and most importantly, free of charge. True, the author of the tool have all the rights in the world to make money off it, but it goes against the actual purposes of patching : To make the game better and more enjoyable for all those playing the game.

Author of that don't want your money... I am this who talking with author about that, and he want money for him tool... This is him tool, and he can do what he want with this. But, author give to all code, and with this code all programers can make good software for editing .iff files! Demo version I give to administrator of our site, and he give to you...

We all had been pacient waiting for this tools, complimenting your jobs, filling up your egos, but acctually i don't think you ever REALLY planned to release any tools. Different of everyone here that works for free, you think plan to make profit with 2K work.

I wish 2k release its own iff tools, so all this tiring conversation would come to an end AND no $$$ eyes programmer would make money with 2k work.
It's not about 10, or 100 ou even 1 buck, it's about principles.

You guys never get it do you? For years we've been sharing everything we created. Since the NBA Live era we've been sharing tools for FREE which allows you to patch the game. FSHX, Ebodit, the list goes on. We share the spotlight, we share the joy. Even right now Pdub and JaoSming are sharing the methods of patching 2K9 without any hesitation. Who was the person that discovered the use of texmod right on the very first day that 2K9 was released on PC? Who was the person who managed to crack the headshape file? And now you're saying that we disrecpect you, eventhough the author planned to charge money? If you dont call that selfish then I dont know what is. I'll tell you what. If we want to pay money in order to get the tool, then we would have hired a good programmer in the first place.

I'm not going to say anymore, but bear in mind that nobody here want to disrecpect anybody. You guys need to calm the hell down and think twice before you conclude things. There is nobody on earth who always live their life full of bad intentions. We all want the best for us, for the game. After all, dont forget that it's just a game. And dont forget that ALL of us wants to make it better.

Point is that only chinese can create patches for 2k, and because this Chinese don't want to give tools.
But most people who want tools isn't opponent to them, because first i want to create Euroleague patch, not courts or other what we already have in the game... Mutch people more love Euroleague than NBA, and we only want to play Euroleague in Nba 2k game.

There was no agreement, only conversations. For a while now I have been helping someone else try to finish the tool they are working on and I believe when it is finished it will be released for free.

Also, to clarify any rumors, a 3D tool is NOT being developed. However, if a tool comes out that can edit arenas and overlays(as in uncompress them), then I will start looking through the files to find the data that needs to be edited for customization, similar to the headshape modding tutorial. That way custom courts could be made, and custom overlays. You know me, playa!
