Indeed. I think he can play at a higher level as a Heat. I could be wrong, but I think he is underrated by many in this trade.

Well judging from what I've seen out of Moon this season that isn't likely to happen. I can see what held him back from the NBA all these years and that's his horrendously low basketball I.Q. Being around 27-28ish, he should have reached his ceiling athletically for a few years but he definitely hurts the team in fundamental areas such as boxing out, using screens effectively or even seeing seams in the defence to slash to the basket where he can put his athleticism to good use. This results in him becoming a spot up jumpshooter, and while he does hit them at a decent clip, it leaves you believing that he has the potential to be a much bigger positive on the court while he chooses the absolute worst times to hoist up an ill advised jumper.
.
He also has a knack for gambling for blocks by jumping for almost every pump fake imaginable. I remember one game where the Raptors had kept a game against the Boston Celtics to the wire but what kept the Celtics in the game was Paul Pierce (a master of the shot fake) and Jamario jumping all over the court on seemingly every freaking posession.

So all in all, Moon is known as a quality defender and rebounder if you look at it from a statisical standpoint (and even so, he has regressed this season), but his continuous bone headed mistakes on the court make you realize that he can be a total liability when he's on the floor.

in fact i don't care about moon, cuz we aiming 2010 FA and be searching a real all-star playing on that position. so moon is just adds depth as a temp. option! all i want to see out of this trade is B-Easy gets more PT, and O'Neal stays healthy and plays good!
only god can judge me

It hasn't done much for either team, at least as far as having a huge impact in the W column but with all the future financial ramifications of the trade its a deal that might not yield its full benefits straight away.

But I would have to say Miami got the better part but barely overall there weren't really any big trades

But like I said, there hasn't been significant improvement on either side since the trade, it remains fairly mutually beneficial at this point in my view.

Yeah, but we got a size which we were really lacking from the beggining of the season and just like Marion he can give us cap room if it doesn't work out. Besides, with Moon meshing well, I think we're a better prepared team for the playoffs than before. I still wouldn't say it's a significant improvement like you are saying, but it is still an improvement from my perspective. In return, the Raptors got what they wanted, but they sure aren't an improved team I'd say.

In the end, I am hoping this trade will play a key role to getting to the second round or possibly even deeper into the playoffs.

I don't dispute that. I just don't think there's really been a "winner" in the trade as yet, especially with the long term ramifications yet to play out.

Yeah, it's too bad he's leaving Toronto for more money and only used them to up his value.

Damn, this trade was ok for the Heats but both Moon and O'neal were injured at the critical time so we couldn't move on to the second round. As for Toronto, Marion should be leaving to give them a cap space.
