Probably, the best scenario would have been starting Chris Mihm at the center and let Pau stays at 4.. isn't it?

I don't think Chris Mihm starting is a recipe for success, certainly no more so than moving Odom back into the starting five.

Actually, last season I think Odom played better at the PF position where he could come in a just go for boards. Offensively, he's always been inconsistent... he will do the job if he is shifted into the starting five. He hasn't really been doing that great at sixth man... he went for a really long stretch of not getting to double digits in scoring and really isn't the force I expected him to be. Many, including myself, thought Odom (who would start for a lot of other teams) would dominate other team's second units...

Chris Mihm hasn't played at all because he can't get minutes so now, he will at least get a bit of time off the bench. :) Mihm is an alright player (not a starter for LA though) so it's good that he will get some burn. :) I read that in one pracitse he had a dunk that made his teammates go crazy. :D

Back when Mihm was playing for Cleveland I really thought he would develop into a better player, but he basically stayed the same and didn't develop much.

This obviously will hurt the Lakers big time but I think they will remain atop the West in rankings nonetheless. This is a great time for me, since I own Lamar Odumb in fantasy league. It was about time he posts great numbers. How awesome can it get. Oh wait, no disrespects to Lakers fans.

Lamar Odumb? Where do you come up with this stuff? You were dumb enough to draft him to your fantasy league, and then give him shit for not producing off the bench? O..kay.

We have a prognosis. He'll be out 8 to 12 weeks having suffered a torn ligament in his knee. Not the most horrific injury in league history but just about the last thing the Lakers wanted after last year.

Good to hear that he'll be back for the playoffs in time. It's a contract year for Bynum, so he better prove himself in the playoffs. If he ends up making a significant impact in the playoffs, I think he'll get somewhere around the money he asks for. Anyways, I'm happy for the Lakers and also fo myself for being Odum owner.

He's already signed a significant extension that will take effect next year, so he's not actually in a contract year.

And what Andrew said is sad... perhaps everyone jynxed Bynum by speculating on whether it was worht signing him up... ah well. I just hope that the injury woes don't keep starting and stopping with Bynum. :( Hope he makes a full recovery. :)

Yeah, I noticed that it's quite a big contract. I guess it's a good investment though, if he keeps improving.

It's a freak injury on a collision with Kobe though, so it's not really like he's extremely injury prone. This was just bad luck.

An LA BOSTON game game today, this should be great. Bynum is out, LA on a back-to-back game, this should be interesting to see how far the Lakers have come along since last year's playoffs.

The Lakers won the rematch in December though; with Bynum out I'd say the Celtics are the ones who have to step up, take advantage of his absence and defend their homecourt.

Impressive performance by Odom tonight. Kobe did just enough but supporting casts really came out to play tonight. Even without Bynum and Radmanovic, they seem to be in a fine shape. As for Lebron, he forced his game bit too hard.

Odom has stepped up big time. I know that the Lakers have always been happy with his work on the glass but scoring wise, he needs to be more assertive and this morning, Odom was just awesome. :)

I think for Odom it's just one of those one game king of things, scoring is plainly just not how he plays the game. Now that I think about it a number of players unexpectedly played well for their teams yesterday. Matt Bonner and Sean Marks came up big for their respective teams, scoring career or near career numbers.
