With this vague title, I would like to take this oppourtunity to make this the official NBA 09 on PSP thread. Despite all signs pointing to this being a godawful game, it is actually pretty good, as long as you don't mind arcade gameplay and the best portable NBA game available imo!

To answer your question, you can't make the charge stance, you just have to stand there and hope the other player commits a charge on his own. Kinda shitty I know.

i think it's actually good, too. i have been playing it for a while now. and yes, it's much better than nbalive09 on the PSP. it's just that i can't see any ratings and shit. but, the hell, players develop during the franchise mode as long as you use them frequently and efficiently. and believe it or not, because of this PSP game, i haven't touched my nbalive on PC since i got it.

Yeah, the franchise mode and stupid ratings system blow. However, the primitive style of the franchise mode does make it awfully addicting in an old-school kind of way. I like just tearing through the season. No Sim Quarter Length option is a joke though. It seems as if the franchise mode was coded 10 years ago.

But the decent graphics, fun gameplay and actual polish make it was better than Live. The mini-games are actually pretty cool too!

the graphics might have made me think it's better than live. i haven't played any of the minigames. i'm really into my wizards francise. but i've seen my bro play dodgeball and it's cool. i just hope i could find an updated roster somewhere. do you happen to know one?

you just have to stand there and hope the other player commits a charge on his own.

it's really just like that. it's also same when you're on offense. it doesn't matter whether you're on turbo or not. the game just simulates whether you'll be fouled or not.
