College Hoops 2K9 MOD

Does anyone have any plans of doing a College Hoops 2K9 Mod. Now that we have the iff editor I think this would be great Mod. NCAA Atmosphere, crowds it would be pretty sick

Umm the NCAA doesn´t allow mods of them involved in games afaik.

There have been many NCAA mods at least started and a few released for NBA Live PC. No one ever got a Cease & Desist letter.

Exactly, what's this noob talking about But I think an NCAA Mod for 2K9 would be excellent. Someone was playing around with the idea and made North Carolina court and unis, so the community should build on this. I mean, this isn't NBA Live we are dealing with here. 2K9 is actually a basketball game

problem is that we dont have an iff editor that works for stadiums/courts yet, nor one that can edit uniform #s.

still, that is no reason people cant start creating players and starting artwork.

Jao, aren't there people doing some custom courts? I'm almost positive I've seen some custom court iffs brother.

yea, but they are also hording their "better working" iff editor for themselves. We got lucky with that iffset leak.

Now that we have an iff editor, do you think there could be an NCAA Mod? People have already gotten together and pretty much completed a Euro League Mod Is interest in the NCAA this non-existent?

I just think it would be a great add-on to this amazing game. So I think an NCAA project needs to get started. I mean, even the Live series had a semi-complete NCAA Mod, and those games were horrible. Now we've been given superior gameplay and graphics to work with and nothing!?! It just doesn't make sense

the main problem with the situation is the size of 2k9. We are talkin over 11 gigs for one game. Now I for one would want any street, NCAA, or other TC mod to be separated from the NBA game so I could play my association without NCAA graphics. So having people make an entire new install just for the NCAA mod can't happen.


now even though we have an iff editor, it doesnt do courts. so, yea, still kinda meh with this happening yet. hell iffset cant even do jersey numbers either.

if you create 10 created teams and decide to overwrite all the extra unlockable and bonus teams I think we end up with near 30 teams that we could play with without doing a new install of the game. while that is good and all some of those teams we cant edit their rosters and we dont have an external editor that can trade players yet.

also someone recently found out that there is a ~60 CAP limit, so we cant use that to create players and we can't edit the names of existing NBA'ers


so while we have made a lot of progress in patching, I dont think we are anywhere near ready to make an ncaa mod. however if you wanted to start making one Im sure youll get support. There are just going to be a lot of road blocks.

You know you got me thinking about this. I have done the NCAA Mods in the past for NBA live....

Could we not use the files from Choops2008 on the 360? they are baically the same thing. Im sure IFF set would probley open them as well? I havent really looked into it but it might be as easy as renaming some files... as far as jerseys and graphics... Now team names we need some tools and editors along with player renaming witch im still kinda surprised we are still without.

Just a thought.

iffset wont even open all the PC iffs, I would doubt it would work on 360 files


anyway, pdub, me, benji and others have looked at files for nba 2k8, 2k7, the 2k demos and the CH franchise for both the 360 and ps2 and there is no evidence of our PC file system anywhere.
