I guess my main question is "if i add existing players to a different team, what would i put in the playerid fields in appearance.dbf?

You assigned wrong numbers to the "ROSTERPOS" field probably. In the editing ASG teams tutorial there is info about this I think, so check once again and correct the values in your files.dei. wrote:players like Wade are not on their original team and only 4 starting position on their team.
Because you changed his team from Miami to USA instead of creating second Wade and putting him on the USA team.
