08 USA TEAM roster editing

Fri Aug 15, 2008 6:46 am

Im trying to add boozer, bosh, paul and wade and remove the others in Team USA from players.dbf but i when i check them in the game they still wear their own team uniforms so i edited playerid in appearance.dbf but there skins and other attributes got messed up.

I guess my main question is "if i add existing players to a different team, what would i put in the playerid fields in appearance.dbf?

You don't need to edit PLAYERID numbers. Adding and removing players from the FIBA teams is the same as editing the All-Star teams.

I am having a hard time editing the USA roster Andrew. I followed the steps on the tutorial but when I check in game their are two PF position and the original players like Wade are not on their original team and only 4 starting position on their team.

You assigned wrong numbers to the "ROSTERPOS" field probably. In the editing ASG teams tutorial there is info about this I think, so check once again and correct the values in your files.

Because you changed his team from Miami to USA instead of creating second Wade and putting him on the USA team.

Thanks for the reply Spree#8. On the first quote about the ROSTERPOS, I checked and replaced with the correct ones but still no changes.

About the second quote how do I create a duplicated player? I know that it said on the tutorial that you have to put the player on the free agent pool and I did. Anything that I have done wrong?

I just create a new player in Create-a-Player, fill out their attributes, save the roster and finish them off in the DBF (making sure they have their cyberface assigned and all their bio data). Then you've got a copy of the player you can place on an All-Star team, or in this case a FIBA team.

So you need to make a new player even if it's a original? What roster do I have to save them, the original or the backup?

If you're sure that you put correct values, it's strange. I don't know what to do with this then.

Yes. Make a backup before creating him and then save to your original roster. Edit his data in dbf files and if something goes wrong, replace files with the backup.

PC only. You can't edit roster files on the other platforms.
