Well, the motions in the game are simply replacing a button press. Like most Wii games unfortunately. It's not mirroring your motions.
I wish more games would allow for the classic controller/GameCube controller. Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition and Smash Bros. Brawl both do this. I'd be more apt to play through Twlight Princess a second time if I could just use my WaveBird.
Unfortunately, the Wii is not getting much attention despite being on the verge of becoming the number one console. EA, like most people, are just porting PS2 games and tacking on controls that replace button presses with Wii-mote movements.
