Jermaine O'Neal shooting against Rabeh Al-Hussaini
MIAMI, FL - Rabeh Al-Hussaini, the Philadelphia 76ers center was a regarded as a revelation by the team and it's fans, averaging close to 22 points and 9 rebounds on the season. In preparation, Chris Tiu mentioned to the coaching staff at practice Al-Hussaini's tendencies and his favorite spots on the floor. It proved to be correct as the Heat's defense limited Rabeh to 5-12 shooting, 10 points and 1 rebound.
However, so much focus has been on Al-Hussaini this entire season that they've forgotten about the other players. Andre Igoudala scored 31 points after scoring only 6 on 28% shooting in the first half to lead Phildelphia to a
114-80 total thrashing of the Miami Heat, improving their record to 6-1 and staying on top of the conference standings.
He scored mostly on posterizing jams and constantly found himself wide open on numerous possessions that he started to calmly drain jumpers. He shot 13-of-19 from the field. He also grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 6 assists.
"We just ran our offense," Igoudala said.
Dwyane Wade could not get going at all, scoring only 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting. Udonis Haslem led the head with 17 points, and Jermaine O'Neal scored 16, mostly against Al-Hussaini.
The Heat have now lost two straight, both by more than 20 points.
Chris Tiu, Miami's Filipino and Rabeh's former schoolmate and teammate on the 2008 Ateneo Blue Eagles championship team, scored only 8 points on 2-of-8 shooting but also dished out 7 assists. He is set to go down to the D-League in December.
"Hopefully I can come back to the team sooner," Tiu said.
Philadelphia had 7 players in double figures.
