Gnarl's Philadelphia 76ers dynasty

Settings:
  • 28 games
  • 5 minutes quarter
  • Superstar
  • Ben's sliders with slight modifications
  • NLSC 03404 final season rosters
  • 7-7-7-7 playoffs

Note: all changes in the roster you are soon to read about were made after the dynasty has began. I'm taking over the Sixer for the 03-04, and since I don't like the players I allowed myself to go crazy with the trades.

Talking About A Revolution

It was the first day of training for the 03-04 season, the Philadelphia 76ers' players were getting ready in the locker rooms for their first practice and then it happened; Head Coach Jim O'Brien and President and GM Billy King, entered the room with grim faces.
Untill this day it is not fully known what exactly O'Brien and King told the players that day, but fact is, by the end of the week ten players found themselves playing for another club.

Chauncey Billups

First trade to be orchestrated by the 76ers sent out Aaron Mckie and Glenn Robinsonto to Detriot for Star PG Chauncey Billups, both he and Iverson said they can't wait to work together.

Boozer and Kapono

After the arrival of Billups it was obvious that Eric Snow is no longer needed, and so he and Kenny Thomas were traded to the Clevland Cavaliers for Carlos Boozer and Jason Kapono.

Jarvis Hayes

If you thought that was the end of it, you were wrong, Philly traded Todd MacColluch and Willie Green to Washington and received rookie Jarvis Hayes to fill the SF position.

Vladimir Radmanovic

The 76ers were also worried about the bench, so they sent Greg Buckner and John Salmons to Seattle for the Serbian PF.

Chris Bosh and Roger Mason Jr.

The only starter missing now was a center, so once again Philly went for a young big man, Chris Bosh, and traded Samuel Dalembert and Marc Jackson for him and Roger Mason Jr.

Joe Forte and Anthony Carter

The two Free Agents were signed to the team to fill in the bench as a substitute back line.

"This is only step one of the revolution," King declared, "our goal is to win the championship within three seasons."

The final roster:

C
Chris Bosh 69
Derrick Coleman 64
Amal McCaskill 31

PF
Carlos Boozer 69
Vladimir Radmanovic 59
Zendon Hamilton 34

SF
Jarvis Hayes 55
Jason Kapono 49
Kyle Korver 43

SG
Allen Iverson 84
Joe Forte 54
Roger Mason JR. 45

PG
Chauncey Billups 70
Antony Carter 54

Bosh, Boozer, Hayes, Iverson and Billups are expected to start. Coleman, Radmanovic, Kapono, Forte and Carter will get their chances off the bench.
MacCaskill, Hamilton, Korver and Mason will most likely balance the bench.

GAME 1
Philadelphia (0-0) @ Golden State (0-0)

Declaration Of Intentions

A new team came on to the court today, yes the name was famillier, but the roster had too many new faces in it, after the Philadelphia 76ers wen't a little crazy, some would say, during off-season.
Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer, Jarvis Hayes and Chauncey Billups joined Allen Iverson, one of the only players left from last season, in the starting line-up and the 76ers began the 03-04 campaign against the Golden State Warriors. Believe it or not, it started off pretty good. Bosh and Hayes, both with their NBA debuts, delievered the first nine points for Philly, Iverson and Billups later added seven more points themselves and substitute Jason Kapono added four more as the 76ers finished the first game with a 20 to 13 lead. However, the 76ers were not able to keep a steady performance that day. The second quarter and the begining of the third marked the Warriors attempts to change the score, and they got close. It wasn't untill the score was 49-47 in the third quarter when Philly woke up and with an 11 - 2 run put the Warriors behind again. Allen Iverson led the sixers in the last quarter to a 61-72 win and finished the game with 17 points and 3 assists. Chris Bosh also playied well with 13 points and 4 rebounds, Billups and Kapono added 11 points each. Carlos Boozer and Vladimir Radmanovic dissapointed with no points for either one of them.
After the game, Iverson declared that "The best of this team is yet to come."

GAME 2
Philadelphia (1-0) @ Portland (0-0)

Iverson A No-Show

After a pretty good game in Oakland the 76ers faced a tough away game against the Portland Trailblazers. Philly opened with the same line-up as before and started off good, however, weak moves by Allen Iverson saw the first quarter score at 16-21 for the Blazers. Chris Bosh continued to deliver points and rebounds and he was joined by Carlos Boozer who finally showed why he was brought to the team, but Portland was too big for the duel and at half time the score was 33-39. Billups, Korver, Kapono and Radmanovic all added three pointers during the second half but it was not enough, mainly because one man failed to meet expections, Allen Iverson, with only 5 points.
The Game ended 62-77 with Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer and Vladimir Radmanovic showing some good stuff, but in Philly everybody knows it is not enough.

GAME 3
Philadelphia (1-1) @ Washington (4-0)

Fourth Quarter Fall

The Philadelphia 76ers are on the road, after games in Oakland and Portland, it was time for the Sixers to visit the Washington Wizards, who already won all four of thier matches. Philly dominated the first half, and were always ahead even when washington came close. Iverson and Billups scored 8 points each and Billups gave away 3 assits to see the half time score at 39-32. The third quarter was still in Philly's hands, leading by as much as 19 points, but just like in the first game against Golden State, it was nap time for the sixers who from that point on couldn't stop Larry Huges' amazing game (30 points) and droped their lead late in the fourth quarter. Throughout three quarters and almost one more, the Wizards were behind, but thiry seconds to go it was Huges who changed the score line, and Philly could do nothing, 75-79 in the end.

GAME 4
Philadelphia (1-2) @ Cleveland (2-4)

Same Old Story, Thrilling End

A fourth consecutive away game for the Philadelphia 76ers started off as all games, a good first half to see them with a 12 points lead at some point. But for the third time this season Philly showed she can't hold a lead, and early in the fourth quarter the Cavaliers took the lead and stayed atop untill the fourth quarter. Heroic plays by Chauncey Billups sent the game to over time. Once again the Cavs took the lead but Philly was able to send the game to a second OT,Jarvis Hayes and Chauncey Billups from Philly and Eric Snow from the Cavs were fouled out. The second OT began as the one before it, Cleveland took a good lead and Bosh was fouled out, but Philly was once again able to send the game into another OT. Carter was the last from Philly to be fouled out, and the Sixers were unable to do anything, final score: 114-126.
Carlos Boozer lead the sixers with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Bosh added 19 points and seven assits, Korver scored 17 and Iverson and Billups scored 14 each. Iverson failed to shine in the game when his team needed him the most.
Finally the 76ers are coming home for a game against the Rockets, bruised with only one win from four games.

GAME 5
Houston (2-3) @ Philadelphia (1-4)

Not Enough

First home game of the season, and Iverson started it out with early three fouls, thus Houston took command of the game. However, by half time the 76ers had evened the score and the second half was a thrilling close call. Early in the fourth quarter Iverson was fould out after contributing only 10 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assits, Bosh remained the most contributing player in Philly, as he was in every game, but when the time came, thirty seconds to the end of the game and after 19 point, most of them over Yao Ming, the Chinease was finally able to stop him and prevent Philly from scoring, final score: 74-72.
Jason Kapono started instead of Jarvis Hayes.

GAME 6
Philadelphia (1-4) @ Toronto (4-3)

Constant Vigilance

Five games, four loses, three times Philadelphia dropped a big lead, this is what will be remembered from the first five games of the season for the Philadelphia 76ers, luckily for them the sixth game was a totally different game. Philly opened with an 8-0 run, and finished the first quarter with a similar lead. In the begining of the second quarter the Sixers scored 11 consecutive shots and the lead grew to 15. Peterson and Carter tried to bring their team back but Philadelphia didn't reapet its lethal mistakes from past game and kept its cool.
Final score: 89-82.
Bosh, Iverson and Billups led the 76ers, Coleman with a great performance coming off the bench.

GAME 7
Detroit (1-3) @ Philadelphia (2-4)

Kapono And Hayes

Philadelphia, stronger after their win in Toronto, returned to their home court for a second game this season, hoping to get a first home win against the Detroit Pistons, but it didn't start as expected. The first quarter was in command of the Pistons leading by 10 points most of the time. Philly was looking for someone to take control of the game, and they found Jarvis Hayes. Hayes scored 10 points, Forte scored four and Radmanovic with a great block brought the Sixers close, 32-32 close, but not close enough. The Pistons continued to control the game and the second half was very close. Ten second left to the game and Philadelphia led 69-71, Mike James was sent to the line with 6 second remaining and he evened the score. It seemed that we are headed for an OT, but Jason Kapono killed Detroit with a three pointer over the defence and the final score 71-74.

Actually I do have one picture I wanted to put before:

And now two pics from the Pistons game:

Hopefully I'd remember to take more screenshots in the next games.

GAME 8

Philadelphia (3-4) @ Indiana (7-3)

Complete Control

Nothing much to say about this game, the Philadelphia 76ers had complete control over the pacers leading by a minimum of 8 points and a maximum of 21. Bosh remains to most stable player in Philly scoring 21, Iverson added 17 and Hayes 14.
Philly with a three games winning streak finally pulled their balance even and hope to acheive another win in the last game of the month against Atlanta.
Final score only 82 -70 due to two three pointer of Reggie Miller.

GAME 9

Atlanta (3-5) @ Philadelphia (4-4)

Get It Done!

What can I tell you about this game? Philadelphia was eager to get its fourth win in a raw (five in totall) and faced a comfortable rival in the form of the Atlanta Hawks coming to town. I can also tell you that Philly led by as much as twenty four points and that it didn't start that way at all. The game started with a slower pace then imagined and both teams strugled to finish the quarter with the score 15-15. From that moment on everything changed, the 76ers started getting serious and Atlanta couldn't stop the dawnfall. A 7 points deifference at half time, became 17 in the third quarter and ended as 22. Final score: 69-47.

Philaelphia finished a got month with a 5-4 balance.

GAME 10
Chicago (3-4) @ Philadelphia (5-4)

Old Story

Stop me of you had heard this kind of story before, a team, Chicago this time, comes to Philadelphia who already have a four games winning streak, they start off nice but very soon they just can't handle Philly. The Sixers led by 7 points in the first quarter, 10 in half time, 20 in the end of the third and the final score is 74-40. A pathatic perfomance by the bulls and a great performance by Bosh, Iverson and co.

Image
Iverson with an assist (one of the seventh he had that game) to Jarvis Hayes.

GAME 11

Philadelphia (6-4) @ Miami (5-4)

All Good Things

Five wins in a raw is not something to be taken lightly, but the posibility that it might end abruptly is not one too. Philly was affraid that their latest run would come to an end, but not in their wieldest dreams did it end like it did.
In the first minutes of the game both teams had a hard time scoring but from a 6-6 score in the first quarter Miami ran to a 12-6 and the first quarter ended 24-13. The second Half was even worse, Miami leading by 19 points and neither BOsh nor Iverson do anything in Philly. The third quarter saw the sixer get back in the game and the lead dropped to eight. But in the fourth quarter Miami returned to control the game and the final score: 85-66. The 76ers compeltely broke down and they can only hope it will not affect the next game.

GAME 12

Utah (3-6) @ Philadelphia (6-5)

The Downfall

The Sixers' fans hoped that after the horrible dispaly against the Heat, their team would beat the Utah Jazz at home, and it seemed that the team can't live up to the fans' expections.
The Jazz took the lead early in the first quarter and it ended 21-15, the begining of the second half was completely Jazz again who too a lead of 12 points, but then finally Philly woke up and started playing. The Jazz's lead dropped fast and by the end of the third quarter Philly evened the score. The fourth was an even quarter and very dramatic. Philly had the lead minute to go by five points, then came Kirilenko with another three and Philly replied with only two, the Russian did it again and with ten seconds to the end of the game Philly led by one, Jazz ball. Iverson made a quick foul and the jazz took the one point lead from the line but Chauncey Billups with a great pass to Chris Bosh returned the lead to the Sixers, with four seconds on the clock. Coach O'Brien decided he does not want a foul and was shocked when Kirilenko scored a three pointer leaving one second on the clock. Billups took the final throw but misssed, final score: 73-71 Jazz.

GAME 13

Philadelphia (6-6) @ Boston (5-8)

Ups And Downs

Philly came to Boston with one traget, win the game, after two loses the 76ers didn't want to be in a negative balance again and they knew it isn't going to be easy against Paul Pierce and his team.
The first quarter started good and half time ended with an eight points lead for Philly, who continued to lead the game and rose to a 12 points lead later in the second quarter, Boston woke up and returned to the game and even turned the score around before the third quarter, only to see Bosh turn it around again the next second. From there on the game was only Philly again who led by as much as 15. Final score: 83-72.

Here are the stats from the match up between Pierce and Iverson:

GAME 14

Philadelphia (7-6) @ San Antonio (9-7)

So Close Yet So Far

The Philadelphia 76ers had an energy boost after beating the Celtics and were ready for their hardest away game yet in San Antonio. Philly started with a blitz and took a 12-6 lead, but they froze and the first qyarter ended 20-14. Six points became twelve and even sixteen in the third quarter but Philly finally woke up late in the third quarter to see the fourth start with a ten points lead for the Spurs. Slowly the lead was cut and the last minute saw the lead stand on four points. The Spurs stalled and Philly took time to do the foul, Duncan scored one of the two and Philly went on trying to score a three pointer, Kapono was fouled and went to the line for three, he missed the first, scored the second and missed the third again but Coleman took the rebound and scored two. Parker was sent to the line and he scored only one, Iverson scored a ley up with four seconds on the clock, Philly tried to foul but wasn't fast enough and the foul left only 0.2 seconds on the clock, Parker scored only one of the two again and the final score: 76-78

GAME 15

Milwaukee (3-12) @ Philadelphia (7-7)

The Shamful Act

Philly was sure that against Milwaukee things will start falling into place, after all the Bucks only won three games out of fifteen, but the game didn't exactly go as expected. The first quarter was almost even and ended with a one point lead for the Bucks, in the second quarter one turned into 11 but the Sixers were able to finish the first half with Milwaukee only leading by six. In the rest of the game Philly lowered the lead, the lost it, lowered it again only to lose it again. Final score: 81-68.
