After a crash in my Boston Celtics game, and due to lack of zero motivation in my New Orleans Hornets, i will try to make this one last for a long time. At least for the 05 draft. I like the Nuggets and think the lineup already is almost perfect. I haven't planned on making many changes at the lineup, but im going to trade some players ;)

Martin & Anthony - We can go all the way!

Yesterday the myupdater.com journalist crew (Denver) met the two superstars of Denver Nuggets, Carmelo Anthony & Kenyon Martin. We talked to them about the upcoming season's hope for glory, and saw a funny 1 on 1 between Carmelo & Kenyon

What is your main ambition for this upcoming season?
Carmelo: To enter the playoffs, with a +.500 average, and to win the Northwest Division. I think we have a good chance of winning it, if our we stand together and has a aim for glory ;)

Kenyon: Hehe, that was what i was going to say man! My main ambition is too have a good scoring average, rebound average and block average, and have alot of fun with the rest of the guys!

What would the perfect season be for you?
Carmelo: To win 82 games in a row.. hehe. A season with no injuries and a lot of well played and close games, the Nuggets would win.

Kenyon: Damn, you did it again 'Melo! Just copy what Melo said, and paste it to my answer ;)

Is entering the playoffs a realistic target for the Nuggets?
Carmelo: Definately.. We did it last year, and will do it again.

Kenyon: Yeah, it is. And i think with our strong starting 5 lineup and our strong bench, i think everyone is expecting us to enter the playoffs.

There has been alot of rumors lately, about Gilbert Arenas to Denver for Andre Miller - What do you think about that?
Carmelo: Well Andre is a very good shooting guard and a very important player to this roster, so I dont think that you should believe in this. I know that the coaches and GM's has discussed this subject, so it might be realistic.

Gilbert is a very good and athletic point guard, and I would love to play with him one day :)

ImageLakers could'nt stop Nuggets

The Los Angeles Lakers looked tired and was'nt motivated at all. The former Miami Heat players Lamar Odom, Caron Butler & Brian Grant was not glowing at all, and couldnt live up the expectations. The Nuggets won 92-96 at Staples Center.

[Boxscores] Surprise of the Night: Francisco Elson .:. Top Performer: Kobe Bryant

The Nuggets started the game in a lethal tempo, and won the first quarter 27-16. 3-point-specialist Voshon Lenard had a amazing 1st quarter scoring 3/3 3-pointers, and showed some amazing defensive moves. Carmelo Anthony started the game scoring 2/2 3-pointers, and ended the 1st quarter with 10 points.

In the 2nd quarter superstar Kobe Bryant began to shine, and the Nuggets defense was struggling. Bryant didnt miss a shot in the entire 2nd and scored 4 out of 4 penalty shots. Bryant was the catalyst for the Lakers, but they lost the quarter 23 to 20.
Francisco Elson was subsituted for Markus Camby in the middle of the 2nd quarter, and was impressive. He grabbed 7 offensive rebounds in the game, 11 overall. In the 2nd he scored 4 out of 6 field goals attempts.

The 3rd quarter was a blowout by the Lakers, and Kobe Bryant contuniued to score. After a break for PF Lamar Odom, he decided to be a part of the show and scored 10 points in the 3rd, while he grabbed 5 rebounds.

Little 5'5 point guard Earl Boykins played some minutes in the 3rd, but didnt really glow. The 1st pick at the point guard position, Andre Miller, was having a good game. He didnt score one point, but double-doubled with 10 assists and 10 steals. Not a typical double-double.

The 4th quarter wasnt very well played either, but the Nuggets managed to hold the lead at 5 points, and continued the hot perimeter shooting. Especially Voshon Lenard who scored 7 out of 8 3-point attempts in the game.

Kenyon Martin & Marcus Camby was both quite anonymous after the impressing 2nd quarter by Francisco Elson, and both had a average night. Camby scored 10 points, while Martin scored 4 out of 16 attempts (FG). He made 13 points in the game.

ImageMiller is the Captain, Anthony the soldier!

Tonight home in Pepsi Center, the Denver Nuggets really reached theyr potential, and beat a good and organized Minnesota Timberwolves team. Without important players like Wally Szczerbiak & Sam Cassell the Timberwolves managed to play aggressive and smart basketball, and was leading almost the entire game. But the Nuggets hot perimeter shooting continued, and they won 96-90.

[Boxscores] Surprise of the Night: DerMarr Johnson/Troy Hudson .:. Top Performer: Carmelo Anthony

The first quarter was very close, and both of the teams had very high shot percentages. The best players of the first quarter was Minnesota point guard Troy Hudson & Denver shooting guard Voshon Lenard. Both was very active as 3 point shooters, and maintained to score almost every time they attempted.

In the 2nd quarter DerMarr Johnson was substituted for Voshon Lenard. He maintained the hot 3-point shooting show, and scored 2 of 2 3-pointers in the 2nd quarter. Another player who was big in the 2nd was Andre Miller. He scored 6 points and made 6 assists in one quarter - Amazing!

Denver Nuggets: Andre Miller .:. 6 points - 8 assists and 6 steals

Kevin Garnett started the 3rd quarter playing like a allstar, scoring and grabbing rebounds constantly. His morale and eager to win every ball was. The unhappy man in Minnesota, Latrell Sprewell, scored a large amount of his 29 points in the 3rd, and was in the end of the quarter unstoppable.

Andre Miller continued his beautiful play, and was commanding his players like a true floor general. He made 13 assits in the game, and was very close to another double-double.
Carmelo Anthony was also another factor today, grabbing 8 rebounds, making 3 assists and scoring 21 points. His shot percentage was .500 (9/18).

At last, the two bigmen Marcus Camby and Kenyon Martin was solid today. Camby made a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Kenyon Martin scored 12 points only grabbing 4 rebounds. The big surprise against the Lakers, Francisco Elson, scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.

ImageJazz couldnt stop the Nuggets

The Utah Jazz who lost against the Nuggets two days ago in Denver, and had their chance to get revenge. Andrei Kirilenko was trying to lead the Jazz to a victory, but without a good outcome. 86-89 to the Nuggets.

[Boxscores] Top Performer: Kenyon Martin

The Nuggets did once again have an amazing start and won the first quarter 28-20. Kenyon Martin was amazing in the first quarter, grabbing 4 rebounds and making 10 points. His partner under the basket, Marcus Camby, was quite anonymus and scored 8 points in the game while he grabbed 10 rebounds.

Raul Lopez who was a mainfactor against the Nuggets two days ago, did once again show that you sholdnt underestimate him. He scored 12 points and made two assists in the first.

In the second quarter Carmelo Anthony and Voshon Lenard began to heat up, and both scored 2 3-pointers. Lenard shared his time on the court with DerMarr Johnson, but he couldnt live up his to the medias expactations. After two solid games against The Timberwolves and The Jazz, many thought that he was going to have another high scoring game. He did only make 1 out of 3 field goals attempt in the 2nd. The Jazz won the second quarter 20-18.

Utah Jazz: Andre Miller .:. 5 points - 9 rebounds and 2 steals

In the 3rd quarter Andrei Kirilenko really began to shine. He made 6 out of his 12 blocks in this quarter, and scored 9 points. He was the reason why the Jazz didnt loose this game in the 3rd.

Kenyon Martin continued his beatiful defensive play, and scored almost every time Andre Miller passed the ball to him. Miller did once again play a good game, scoring 13 points and making 7 assits. The trade rumors hasnt been confirmed by his side yet, while the staff of the Washington Wizards has said that a trade of Gilbert Arenas for Andre Miller would be interesting.

Carmelo Anthony came up big in the 4th after a shaking 3rd period. He scored 23 points in the game, but wasnt a good defensive impact. He lost the rebound fights to Carlos Boozer.

The result of the fourth quarter was 25-22, and the Nuggets won a well played match in Salt Lake City. Next game is against the Supersonics in Denver.
