" look and wonder who on earth I am. Well anyway, to make this not a part of the milestone thread, I guess I should give a bit of a biography of sorts...
Well, back in '03-'04 (Oh I feel so old school!),when .org was still a fairly active site and was run by David (I remember he was a pretty cool dude.... He was a big Smashing Pumpkins fan if I recall, which is a band I utterly loathe), I was vigorously searching through the interwebz to update my "chinese-version" of Live '04. The '04 season was filled with a lot of trades if I remember correctly, and the Raptors also pulled off a huge one involving Davis, JYD for Rose and Marshall, so the first stop I took a look at was nbalive.org.
So yeah, I went on this huge NLSC boycott for a while, thinking that Andrew's roster were garbage and would only download Benji's rosters and post exclusively at .org. Now .org had this huge ass beef with NLSC at the time for some reason at the time so I pretty much went along with it. It's pretty funny now that I look back on it, because it was my freshman year at highschool (a common place where rival groups are formed that hate each other for no reason) and I played right into the cliche of just trying to fit in and started bashing NLSC for no reason at all. I do remember I had a few squabbles with Jae or something in that forum too, although I don't remember what exactly happened.
I was mostly a dynasty-er at the time (and I still am, I guess considering the majority of my posts are from there), but I realized that a lot of people never really commented on them over at .org. I took a peek at the NLSC dynasty section and realized how much more heavily populated and how there were so many amazing dynasties back in that day.
I remember at the time Micchy Boy, Cocobee and BhzMafia (?)'s dynasties were the absolute best ones out there that no one could top. Even though they were mostly just walls of text with the occasional .jpg image in them, they were absolutely revolutionary at the time and a blast to read (this was a HUGE contrast to all of those "chapter" dynasties you see today). Looking at my first Raptors dynasty and thinking it was a great piece of work that needed to be seen by all (it was actually a very terrible dynasty, by the way), I decided to venture over to the NLSC, the place I loathed for no reason because I was told to.
Let's look at my very first post, shall we?
Magic are right in the thick of the playoff race, and then they just change coaches. Brilliant timing.
Uhhh yeah. I was brimming with teenage angst at the time. I remember trying so hard to be e-cool and sound sarcastic and hateful in every post I made, although you can't really see it with the above post.
Years and posts went by and I've seen some interesting stuff like CoolMac's storied tenure, the "Pinoy Rebellion"
and "The Syndicate" (which to this day I still have no clue what it was about), Nick's drunken essay that actually made me laugh out loud for one of the few times ever just by reading and a whole bunch of other shite. Like I said earlier, I never really have been an important member of the community, nor do I claim to be (it seemed to go along just fine when I was away for months, lol), I kind of just go through the motions like any other average poster and speak my mind once in a while as I update my dynasty every now and then.So yeah... If you were expecting some sort of lavish celebration of my 5k posts filled with magical unicorns and shit then I have to say you're in for a major disappointment (I lulz at those who actually read this entire post). Pretty much a big 'ol post about nothing. I don't think I really need to give shout-outs, if you kind of know who I am then I guess you know you're probably deserving of one. Unless you know me and I hate your guts. Then you can go to hell. You probably know who you are too.
And yes, I did have all the time in the world to write this on a Saturday night.
