Wesley Snipes 16 Years in Prison?

Postby Srbija on Thu Dec 20, 2007 2:46 pm

I saw this in the paper today. The story is that he is going on trial in January for tax evasion and is facing upto 16 years in prison. Very sad to hear this since he is most probably my favourite actor.

So that's why the U.S. Marshals are after him.
He really needs a money train now.

as is always the case, the Government will go after the people that were "selling" the tax scheme to people and companies....I think it's likely the Accountants will get more time in jail than Wesley....

Not Wesley. First Kiefer and then him. Can't believe it.

Hollywood is going to run out of actors if they keep breaking the law at this rate.

I decided to check back up on this and here's what I found. Not as serious as first thought.

Wikipedia wrote:On February 1, 2008, Snipes was acquitted on the felony count of conspiracy to defraud the government and on the felony count of filing a false claim with the government. He was, however, found guilty on three misdemeanor counts of failing to file Federal income tax returns (and acquitted on three other "failure to file" charges). His co-defendants, Douglas P. Rosile and Eddie Ray Kahn, were convicted on the conspiracy and false claim charges in connection with the income tax refund claims filed for Snipes. Following the guilty verdicts on the misdemeanor charges, Snipes faces a maximum possible three years in prison, and awaits sentencing.
