Okay, this is like the best game of best games released this year, how are we not banning people who don't play this game?

Why do we allow other threads to exist?

Drake's Deception is the idea that Uncharted 3 is a great game when Saints Row: The Third shows how to actually be a great game and franchise.

Elder Scrolls? The only scroll-ing needed is down to the "add to cart" button for Saints Row: The Third to purchase it.

Grand Theft Auto V? So they've gone through five games, with numerous spin-offs, but yet Saints Row: The Third is better than any GTA game ever?

Modern Warfare 3? Yet no copters. No tank mayhem. No mind-control octupi.

NBA 2K12? It doesn't even have rookies or a real life league?

Disclaimer: I have not played Arkham City because apparently us PC people aren't allowed to.

Is this game any better/more worth playing than Saints Row II?

You guys seem to like this game, so here's a few more questions.

Are there a decent amount of side-quests in this game? Is the city interesting? Does your car still constantly disappear while you're driving it? Is it the same city from the first game? Does the humor add or take away from the game? Have you tried co-op and is it as fun as it sounds?

Kind of funny about your guys' usernames being taken. I'm sure Lamrock will be as well.

You should get the game and play with benji (w/Jao?) if you can.
My rig can't handle the game but benji's real time commentary (Steam chat) while he's playing is a good enough reason alone to get it. What more if you're actually playing with him and be alongside his stupid adventuring ass!

Define side-quests. There's acquiring territory, activities and such but there aren't really "quests" or anything. In both 2 and The Third you'll have choices at times of which missions to undertake, but you have to do all of them to advance in the story and unlock more.
Is the city interesting?

In both 2 and The Third, I say yes. Stilwater in 2 is visually more distinctive in the different areas and because of the more cartoonish graphical style but I enjoy the vertical nature of Steelport quite a bit.
Does your car still constantly disappear while you're driving it?

Huh? Never seen this in either 2 or The Third.
Is it the same city from the first game?

2 is still set in Stilwater but it's a drastically overhauled city.
Does the humor add or take away from the game?

Neither game is really "funny" it's just not "serious" and is willing to go over the top and be fun instead of some ponderous yet incoherent tale about American life.
Have you tried co-op and is it as fun as it sounds?

Not yet in the Third but it's the same as in 2 which was yes.

Since you're on consoles there's no reason not to pick up 2 since it's probably super cheap. I didn't like what I played of the first game all that much but 2 is just all around great and this one has a masterpiece of a campaign even if the rest of the game is scaled back somewhat due to them starting from scratch instead of piling on top of old assets and work like 2 did on 1.

As luck would have it, Gamefly just started a Gametap-like service and I was able to download Saints Row 2 for free today. I have to play the game on Medium/640x480 settings but I don't mind that too much. Haven't really started the campaign but the game reminds me of last-gen GTA in a good way so far. I reckon I'll play this until SR3 comes in the mail.

Saints Row 1 was kind of fun, but it was rough around the edges and this literally happened several times in like 3 hours of play:

It also spawned this:

I actually did fall through the map in The Third because I got myself somewhere I wasn't supposed to be due to an explosion and clipped through objects they probably didn't bother to put backsides on. But then I have a knack for falling through maps, I did it within ten minutes of starting Fallout 3 because I was trying to go somewhere where I wasn't supposed to be while the other kids were taking that test. (I was climbing on shit in that classroom.) I actually fell through the map AND the game somehow, I fell through this gray area under the map for like a minute and landed an hour later in the game with none of the tools or weapons or anything I was supposed to have with enemies everywhere.
