Malone improved after the 97 finals, his performance in 98 was much better (hitting a few key jumpers in game 1 and carrying them in game 5 and 6).

But I will say this, he did seem to struggle even late in his career at times. So did ewing though.. that missed lay up.. man.

John, it's like Bill Parcells said - "You are what your record says you are". The Knicks just aren't that good. You have to wait until Brown gets better players - guys that play his style of ball. To me, it's about the future.

No, they give up numerous picks to build for now, not the future. NY is the basketball mecca, and it's been a while since the Knicks have had a team that got out of the first round of the playoffs. Isiah's trying to do it too fast. I think he thinks that every year is the year, which is why this year's draft pick is gone. He probably figured that they have enough to go deep in the playoffs(I was even fooled into thinking they could make the playoffs this year) but turns out they don't. Now the Suns have their soon-to-be lotto pick this year, Knicks have no cap room, so all that's left to do is try to trade.
