It was very clear he want's out(this is just like breaking-up w/ your GF, just an example), why make him stay if he's not interested at all?yeah, they may have the right, but he has his own rights too(that's why there is NBPA), and yep as their "superstar"(the GF
), if you want both of you to be happy, you have to let him go(they could've receive great in return this offseason, and dump as many as they want). they had their chances to make him happy there, but they failed(made all the wrong moves while they've had him). ask shaq, tmac, s.francis and etc, history repeats itself for them. there has to be change in their system. i've pointed out some facts about why he opted-in, there are many factors, i can remember that poor whelled-chair guy(and some other children) making a video, begging dwight to stay(w/c was reported that magic FO was behind it), w/c was a total classless move. the "blackmail" and the promise.
My point is, this is not about DH only but also try to look on what their FO had done to him. this is a superstar's league, he's a superstar, and he has these rights to choose or demand to whatsoever he wants. as a FO, you have also your rights, but would you rather make him stay when his "heart" is already out? just like a girlfriend, "bitching" to other guys, would you want her again?simple sample..
Wrong!
Magic traded a lot over the last couple of years. The got to the finals in 08/09 and reached the conference finals the following year. They had pretty good rosters both times - otherwise they would not have been there - but were just not able to win it all. To make Howard happy Magic did in fact a lot. But they made the mistake to overpay players (Jason Richardson, Hedo) to get/stay there for the instant success. Now they have to go through the sh*t they are acountable for.
They lesson all should have learned from the '90ies Bulls and today's Heat is, you can't buy an instant NBA title.
