I need some help here. Im playing dynasty mode, then i change some of the values ing players.dbf but its not reflected in the game. I check back .dbf file but it is updated. Did i miss anything?
Andrew wrote:Are you updating the right dbf file? You need to update the one in your save folder, not the ones in originaldb, workingdb or currentdb.
I updated the players.dbf from the saves folder. Im editing the salary of the players and their jersey nos. The jersey nos. were updated in the game but the salary is not. Ichecked back the dbf file but its already updated but is not reflected on the game
If you're editing players on your own team, there are two entries for each of your players. Make sure your update both instances for the changes to take effect.
That's correct. If the player is on your team there'll be two entries in the database, one that appears on the rosters and one that is used for the comparison between seasons.
Sometimes, i have a workingdb/faces.dbf error on my newly created roster, esp during the rookie loto draw during the next season. How is the faces.dbf connected to your player.dbf?
Why is it that my newly created roster have aroung 580 total players while the faces.dbf have 680 faceid. Does the faces.dbf ever change when i edit a player or add a new created player or the faces.dbf is only used to get what faceid to use for the appearance.dbf.
Thanks again Andrew. Now i know where i made the mistake. I started my ROSTER from an empty PLAYER.dbf and an empty APPEARANCE.dbf, but i failed to use an empty FACES.dbf. My roster is playable but sometimes it crashes during Rookie lottery draw at the 2nd season of Dynasty.
Probably it's alphabetical, like in game. When I was editing Sprewell's line in some dbf files, I saw 2 or something like that in field "SCHOOLNUM" for his Alabama, so I'm pretty sure it's going this way.
You can't really follow that rule though since new schools have been added game-to-game with the next available ID numbers. Australia for example has an ID number that doesn't place it amongst the other options beginning with A.
True, I noticed this also. The only way to find out all school IDs is to find/create players from each school and check the IDs in dbf files then. Quite a big amount of work and time is needed to do that.
Andrew, The tutorial instructs to open franchise.dat in the dynasty's save file I can't seem to find the dynasty's save file where specifically would that be?
