Why you should take Ben Gordon with a grain of salt
Pretty much sums it up as far as Gordon's lack of leverage is concerned but it also touches on something that was brought up earlier, that being Gordon's attitude and behaviour. This offseason is really the first example of him displaying any sort of bad attitude (unless his offseason training the past four years can be considered a bad attitude) and even then he's not really trashing the team or the city. He's asking a lot of money, more than he can reasonably demand and he's fooling himself if he feels he's got leverage but still, bad attitude? Not quite.
Love the comments on the article though, especially this one:
Your right and you couldn't be more wrong. Ben Gordon is delusional in his self worth, all the more reason to get rid of him. He has "unleverage" but is so in love with himself, he can't figure it out. He is not a fair value at 6 years $59 million. for anyone to argue that this would be a low ball offer by the "cheap"Bulls is insane and assinine. When/if he becomes an unrestricted free agent, which he can't do without accepting the Qo he will receive no more than the mid level exception, or maybe a $1 more by someone under the cap, and even then not for the maximum 5 years. Gordon is a journyman who will put up numbers that look good for lousy teams that have no chance winning, in other words, the perfect Clipper.
Ben Gordon is a pathetic excuse for an NBA guard. He belongs at the Rucker, not the United Center. His attitude sucks, his defense sucks, and he literally cannot walk and chew gum at the same time. He literally trips overhis own feet on at least 50% of both the offensive and defensive possessions. He is a spineless, mindless, gutless, heartless moron and not even worth the qualifying offer. As a Bulls fan since the Dick Motta, Jerry Sloan, Norm Van Lier, Bob Love, Chet Walker years in the early 70's and thru the Jordan years I watched every minute of the Bulls 2007-08 season, and watching Gordon made me absolutely sick.
Anybody who thinks that he is worth $30-$40-$50+ million knows absolutly nothing about winning basketball.
Can't wait to get rid of the Mope a Dope
No concrete examples of him showing a bad attitude or being in love with himself aside from not agreeing to the Bulls' offer, an exaggerated "statistic" (trips over his own feet 50% of the time) and playing the "I've been watching for a long time so I'm an unquestionable authority on everything and anyone who disagrees doesn't know a thing about basketball" card. Arguing Basketball on the Internet 101.
