Gilbert Arenas officially opts out

I guess anything's possible but his decision to opt out now rather than waiting for his contract to expire suggests he's looking for a bigger payday while he still can. Another injury plagued season would hurt his chances of doing that.

For all his faults, Arenas is too good a player for the Wizards to give up too readily but if it's between him and Butler paired with Jamison, I too would suggest Washington go with Butler.

Arenas to Seattle would be Bad.
Durant wouldn't be able to reach his Prime quickly.
All the youngsters in Seattle wud be going like:

I don't think Seattle would be too quick to deal for him. With their current contracts they'd need to package at least two, probably three players for him assuming he'd be given the money he's after.
