I would like to see Next Gen next year, a fixed gameplay and some new ideas, for example the chance to control the type of dunking or layup. I hate this ,,just pressing one button and Kobe makes a 360"

But it´s important to let EA know of our problems with current Live versions.
So this list should be send to EA and maybe they´ll react on it. Hope so!

Scout Abillity- to scout some players not from comping draft, but in coming second draft, or something, and that you could Get him before Draft...

Auto-subs update for CPU. because, only Centers and Power forwards changing for CPU in auto subs ( and sometimes SF for a minute or two)

I would want choice for games in season- 82 58 or 29... because all 82 games sucks to play, and you simulate almost al season... when you play 29 games, you play it all , or at least 20. In 82 games mode, I play All-star weekend, some few regular season games, and Finals Last game...

Create Team Mode: all players AND kits are created BY MYSELF.

-Make it more beautiful and realistic like better and more precise lighting.

- Crowds and coaches shouldnt look so retarded

- Have more interactive features like maybe real interviews at the game, half time reports, in game reports on games around the league on timeouts, after game highlilghts and show the team practicing, resigning,and receiving awards like on Live 04!

- Smarter, I think that the next gen versions are a bit smarter than current - gen but the defense should know how to run zones if their going to be in them, they shouldn't just let a tyronne lue just dribble though and score.

- New NBA Superstar or NBA Hall of Fame Mod, where you take your own player throwout his career like in Madden Versions since 05

ESSENTIALS:
Create a Freakin Team. Not something basic like what 2k has, but a full fledged create a team with the ability to create in depth jerseys, courts and stadiums. Also along with that some kind of sharing system through EA Locker and maybe have "featured" teams for everyone to download.
Completely redone Rebounding system.
Actually use the ESPN license. Scoreboard, Half Time show, Post game show, ect.
And finally, port the 360/PS3 version to the PC.

THINGS WE’D ALSO LIKE TO SEE:
Create a Jersey similar to the jersey contest from this year would be cool too.
Owner mode with custom arenas/courts/jerseys for the NBA teams.
A online community thing like Tiger Woods for uploading videos and importing your own Cyberface.
Many, many more animations so you rarely see the same ones over and over again.


THINGS TO FIX & AVOID:
Smooth animations, I dont care if I lose some control over the player because of it either. This jerky stuff has got to go.

Perhaps a new "animation logic". Motion cap animation system has been used in games for many years now and it gets old pretty quick. How about something like a hybrid animation system that blends the classic mocap system with rag-doll dynamics. It would just add more variety to the animation.

An innovative animation system that can make each animation look different everytime depending on the proximity of certain factors like the positional relationship between offensive and defensive players and the basket. It could make all the animations have alot more variety. It could even change the entire gaming industry if it could be implemented/invented.

I'd like to add Edas090's idea on scouting: Make scouting truly unique. Scouts must have its own unique ability to discover players, for example scout A discovered Kevin Martin, but didn't scout Manu Ginobili (remember his draft no?) scout B discovered Manu, and vice versa. This must apply on lower picks. Top 20 prospects are already given. Something like that.

Another innovation I'd like to see is the signing and firing of coaches in dynasty mode, just like the players. Plus they should have attributes. For example, if you hire Mike D'atoni your players will have +5 ratings on offensive categories, or Greg Popovich add +5 on defensive categories. Phil jackson adds +5 on team chemistry, so on and so forth.

I think the reason they cannot put 29,58 games in a season is because of player chemistry and fatigue. Can they just turn that feature off in 29-58 mode? And just apply it on 82 mode?

But of course, change the animations and fix the gameplay first.
I believe these are doable for EA.

How about have teams change their play book according to the talent on the team?

A simple version of this is if the team has a great scoring SF, with high primacy, then the playbook changes on the fly to reflect that. This can be done just before played games, or every time the team's roster changes.

The ultimate goal of this is to see some teams run, some teams play half court more, some teams force the ball into the post, to see teams play more according to their personnel.

About the 360 loading. This might be because the 360 uses DVD's and the PS3 uses Blu-ray. The blu-ray disc can be read faster. Really the only thing they can do is downgrade the graphics (360 version) a bit.

* More ball-centered gameplay instead of animation-based gameplay : When blocking a shot or stealing a ball the focus should be on the player attacking the ball versus just triggering a certain animation, where a player could interrupt the ball in air without interrupting the shooting player's animation.

* Better use of player size differency : Faster players like Allen Iverson should be able to simply speed themselves past bigger and slower players like Adonal Foyle. Players like Steve Nash shouldn't also be able to power themselves into the paint and post up against bigger players. Likewise make stronger players like Baron Davis able to post up Steve Nash. Recognize mismatches in a similar way, where strength and speed can be utilized.

* Fix the alley-oop pass : In Live 08 alleyoop passing was not right. Make the players pass into the correct spot as in Live 2003.

* Continue to develop team and individual defense : Make better defensive teams more difficult to play against. Also make it more profitable to play better individual defense. Defense should also be played not only as to block or steal every possession.

* Make players make more open midrange jumpers : This counts for all open jumpers, as it would encourage to pass the ball more making the game more realistic and able to play with weaker teams playing as a team.

* Recognize the situation when going for a dunk : Separate fast break and traffic dunks. Not even good dunkers should attempt 360 dunks in traffic, only tomahawks etc. In solo fast breaks they should look to slam it with more difficult dunks like windmills and double pumps.

* Add facial animations and player intensity : Make players act like human beings, like Kevin Garnett pumping his chest. Add more celebration animations during important segments like during a close game.

* Fix the framerate issue that was in ps3 often when you brought the ball upcourt.

* Make some animations and interactions with them quicker : For example when receiving a pass, you could pass it around or take off more quickly to resemble real basketball more.

* Make faking more intuitive instead of the current animations : It would be more realistic to drive to the opposite direction of the defenders stance getting that split-second advantage.

* Emphasize handiness : Make right handed players dunk most of the time with their right hand etc. This is an issue with every basketball game on the market since the animations always come mirrored as well. Even players like Vince Carter and LeBron James always dunk it and most of the time lay it in with their right hand.

* Make cutting faster, so you can get more advantage of a pick : This will also increase game speed realistically.

* Make in-air collisions affect the animation realistically without making the players fly in unrealistic directions. Make player size and momentum a factor when determining the outcome.

Not to be negative or anything, but the plays would get kinda repetitive after a while. If they added a 1,000 more animations or had that mation-capture that Pdub and jakarta were talking about it would be cool.

Add a Trading block, so you let other teams offer for your player and not waste your time trying to sell a player to someone.

If theres somthing I really want to be changed in Dyansty mode its the overhall talent at one position . Like say your in your 4-5 5th season you'll start seeing 3-4 players 78- 80+ ovr players at one position . The team wont do nothing . Wont trade them , change there position . Also in dyansty mode . When a rookie devolps his ratings can change a lot and then if would probley play a lot better at another position . Like for ex , I saw a guy that played sg he was 6'9 but had fanstatic ratings for a PF/C guy . And I saw the opposite for a pf . Better team managment is preaty much what I'm suming up.

well I think EA got pretty close to greatness with 08 but if they would put this in:
1. teams to have mulitple courts to choose from like some retro (great westerm forum and etc)
2. classic teams (96 bulls, ETC.)
3. street mode 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, pick your own team street courts (rucker park) game 21, and etc
4. create a team

If EA granted 50% of our requests here, the next release will be probably 2010. And the system requirements will be pretty high! I believe they'll need a blu-ray disc hahaha.

I don't see anybody mentioning this - how about removing the awful thing that has been part of the series since the original nba live?

that would be the ability to shoot from behind the backboard - in a way that you will hit the back side of the backboard. even though it's a bit better in 08, every now and then an animation or an alley oop will take your player behind the backboard with the ball, shooting to the opposite side of the board

One thing that I have realized in online (360) play is that there is no "fear" if you will about driving towards the basket. Your players dont get tired, or injured, and dominate centers like Yao, Dwight, Shaq, Curry, ect can barely block those shots.

Something needs to be done to "scare" people away from just driving to the hoop with spin after spin each possession.
