2k has better player models, EA has better variety of models,
2k has the cloth physics down pat - EA has turned texturing into a fine art. (Faces Jerseys and Shoes look outstanding)
2k - dunk contest = yawn. Ea dunk contest = implemented better, but still... yawn.

The association was absolutely horrible to me. convoluted and slowed time between games to a crawl. Ea needs to address this too, especially the current gen versions. Its too hard to get anywhere period, let alone quickly.

This may be a return to the 04-05 era when both games were good, and it depended on the style that you liked. I dont see any game dominating the other this year. But my dark horse for this year...




Live 07 for the PC. Updated rosters! Better Textures! Bugs Fixed! And get this... Its already been released!

No way are there onlu 3 body types in 2k

Oh, in your opinion Mac's shot is off is enough to debunk the entire system when Live doesn't even have sig shots in 07 and it is not even confirm that there is sig shots in 08, if you can move pass those pre-rendered videos.

Live 08's dribbling is pretty sweet and quick strike is pretty cool (2k7 already did that but didn't have a fancy name for it though)

That means they're not adding anything to the game, there's only 1.5 months left of development, no way are they going to change that much if it's only 60%. To fill the other 40%, the smallest things have to be counted as a high %, because they aren't going to make 40% of the game in the last 1.5 months of development.

Live 07's sig shots have little difference from one superstar to another. 2k7 was miles ahead. The actual game play videos of Live 08 did not show signature shots. Only the pre-rendered ones show that it has sig shots.

You say Live's graphics are better but in fact we only have 5 screens from 2k8 and when compare to Live 08's, this is how it is:

Base on those, I'd say 2k8 is again miles ahead of Live 08.

Fact is, facial features are debatable when both have it good, which they do. It is the play models, jersey motion, and animation that define the graphics of a game, which I think they is no debate who has all three key points down.

Please wait for videos before judging. I base my assumption on the fact that 2k on a year to year basis dominates Live on graphics. you base your assumption on the fact that Live has all these updates and pre rendered screens.

As for the 60% build. When 2k makes a game, it is built upon the previous version. So we already have a 100% game completed in 2k7. If we completed 60% of 2k8, then that is hell of a lot of new features, since 2k7 is the foundation. And you ain't no developer. Then do you know 2 months is not enough to complete the other 40%? And do you think 2k is so dumb that they miscalculate the timing of what can be done in a given time?

The Dwayne Wade, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Gilbert Arenas pics are pre-rendered. All the other ones are in-game. The 06 D-Wade one isn't even pre-rendered, I think. I believe it's an artist's rendering.

Moving screen. Most of the players are just standing around. It's only a few seconds of a drive and dunk, though. I'm not reading too much into it.

The only time it looks close to realistic is when Lebron moving in one direction. Everyone on defense is sliding.
