hey... how can i change the alley-oop success rating??? I just won a game, wherein more than half of my field goals are alley-oops.. they just go in all the time.. even pg's... please:))

Stupid Bugs

I was just playing the stupid game and I was so angry I registered here to voice my frustrations.
I've put freestyle effectiveness up to 100, cpu on-ball physical defense to 0, and Allen Iverson still can't PASS by even the slowest PGs. If you get by someone, you're past them. No magical reappearing back in front in the next frame, bodying you up so you can't move. The one on one stuff has no inuition about it. The same complaint for that stupid catch-up fast break thing. Allen Iverson can't out run even their forwards in the open court. The speed rating has NO meaning on superstar. Turn it to allstar where this problem is about right: the CPU is too crap to challenge you.
What gets me as much if not more is the passing and team AI. None of the players move to any proper receiver spots for a motion offense. They often crowd the ball or one side of the court. And forget about setting screens, because they don't get in the proper position, they don't wait for you to move, they don't roll properly, and they often get stuck on defenders when attempting to cross the lane, and you have to call them again. Then passing is SOOOO terrible. They throw the weakest crappiest floaty little passes. Forget about playing a team game, kicking it to the open man, because the defenders actually move as fast as the ball moves through the air. You need to be able to throw controlled, crisp passes, and it just doesn't happen often at all. And I'm using Steve Nash/Allen Iverson...And what's with the playmaker freestyle? It's useless!
I can't wait for 2K6 on the xbox360, it looks a hundred times better than this piece of crap. It's all show with little substance. They thought: we'll just give them shiny new features and leave all the bugs in so we have something to fix in later versions of the game. I'm the kind of guy who needs a sim, not an arcade game, and this is even average as an arcade game. I've been playing it solidly for months - I've had some great games, but it didn't take me long to be completely fed up with it. Every other live game in the series has given me infinite playability until this version. I am so disappointed with this product. You can tell they marketed well but put less money and effort into the actual product.
To EA, if you want to dominate even more of the market, put as much time and money into the AI as you do into the spectacular, market-oriented "pap" like superstar freestyle. Though it's exciting, it can't replace just a really solid game, because you want to have re-playability.

Hey I've been playing live 06 for almost half a year here's my opinion on the bugs/flaw in the game
i'm chinese so please pardon my english
1. the exit to windows switch problem
2. all the buttons and the interfaces in the game are not user-friendly
e.g. the scroll bar in the substitution screen, the rating and game stats in sub screen, and not average the numbers in the stat during season
3. the CPU is ridiculously domniating, the players could simply walk into the paint and lay up, and of cos the off reb problem, the ball would stay on the rim and teases all my players up and then drop to CPU's player's hand.
4. the players "exchanging" their bench when the quarter finishes.
5. deflection count as TO
6. the superstar moves and dunks or shots are too overpowered, and some of the superstar movements are weird and dont make sense.
7. the primacy distribution is not realistic enough.
8. sometimes when shooting foul is called, the ball swirls round the rim and then goes in the baskets as the "EA sport" logo flashes in, but the good ball doesn't count.
9. the "good ball " decision at the buzzer is sometimes wrong
10. the passer of the ball always pass to the opponent's foot and sometimes goes out of bound or picked up by the opponent. But obviously most of the ball should be passed "overhead" or even "straight and directly" but just not thru the floor.
11. User's players always come back late to defense after scoring and that leaves open looks for the opponents or even fast break.
12. calling man-to-man defense but my players don't do so
13. the audiences are all crappy-looked

I HATE this game!
a)What I really hate is that in a 12min/q on superstar level, computer (and me 2) allways scores more than 110 points.
b)I hate too many off. reb. and amazing computer-fastbreaks cause my players are moving too slow to defense.
c) When comp. player has 5 fouls he will be replaced, but the player stays on the bench until the game is over even if he is a superstar. Only in overtime he will play again. The only way that a comp.player stayes in game with 5 fouls is to miss your own freethrow and than catch an off. rebound. The AI then will forgot to substitute. What a crap. Also, comp. does never substitute between first and second freetrowe.
d) If the time is running out, and comp is in bad shooting situation, he will make maybe 80% poor shots even if he is shooting against 2 players. It is the same mistake like in '05. Hate it.
e) Defence sucks. Even the worsest opponent players can play like a superstar. (Piatkowski, Pryzbilla...).
f) By dinasty mode, computer has agreed for a trade Bogut for L.Wright. Who the hell will let his first overall pick in his first season???
And, can somebody please tell what is "bouncary force field" and what button should I use when I wannt to play in a low post (PC)????? Thanx

wy i hate live 06 is because,when i play 8 minute quarters i end up every game at 120-110 or so,
and when i play 12 min quarters i end up at 190-180 so that's rediculous right?
and when i edit my slider for in "air collison shot's" to 50 or lower the comp still makes all shot's.
another point is when you defend the 3 point schooter and you stay close he probably will miss but when you almost blocked him he hit's the shot so that's kinda weird to,
so i think ea has al lot of work to do when it comes to gameplay
and of course, the crowd looks redicolous!

In my dynasty mode I got a message saying D.Quiad (generated rookie - 4 years pro) annouced his retirement, he was on the Bobcats. Then I get a message the day later saying 'the Bobcats a Quaid have come to terms'. Also, I was looking at the 'player contracts' for the whole league and I saw two Chris Bosh's. One of them played for me and the other was in the legends pool and his age was 2008

I've had that happen and the player (can't remember who) stayed there until the cpu called a timeout. It was great 5 on 4 for about 3 minutes.

the thing that pisses me off is when u try to create fastbreaks and ur shooting guard is walking up the court.
also, it is too easy to get the ball stolen on this game. my teammate could be standing right next to me, i pass the ball then BAM! a steal out of nowhere.
also, there is ALWAYS a stretch in every game where ur jumpshot goes cold, no matter how accurately u press the button.
The thing that pisses me off the most tho, is when u try to drive to the rim, get hit, and they call out of bounds on you or they dont call ur foul. but when u do the same to the computer, they call foul

omg. i just remembered. i played in Dynasty mode. i got fastbreaks with Allen Iverson and Steve Nash also on 2 different occasions. They did some fuckin 360 dunks!?!?!??!!?! wtf??!?!?!? is up with that??
NBA Live 06 has some of the worst passing ever. it's too easy to get the ball ripped on this game. almost every pass is a fuckin turnover. i hate that shit

the worst one i had was a garbage call by the refs. It was like close to half time or something and the buzzer sounds. The computer rebounds the ball and puts it in after. The announcer says "THEY ARE GOING TO REVIEW THE SHOT" and the ref says it is good CLEARLY AFTER THE BUZZER before he even got the ball.

i was in overtime and after like 2 mins my fucking camera changed to the one at the end of the game. it was annoying cuz i kept trying to change it back but it didnt work. the game went to another overtime and the camera changed back. huge bug

i simmed the sonics-lakers game and "intervened" at the start of the 3rd quarter. shockingly, kobe, odom, ray and rashad all have 4 fouls.
another instance, when ridnour blocked an odom pass on the laker frontcourt. the ball went loose towards the sonic basket and ridnour gave chase and was all alone for what seems to be a breakaway. instead of picking up the ball for a simple lay-in, luke ridnour dived for the ball and was called 3 seconds.
some ai!!!

The most annoying bug for me, is the terrible AI for the last-shot in game situations. I mean with plenty of time left, the big, bumblin center shoots a desperation 3 with a guard open? Very unrealistic.
